Hey, I've just recently moved house and found my old pokemon cards. I'm just wondering weather they're worth selling on as I never look at them. What are they worth? Might put them on eBay if they're worth selling as a lot of individually.

Sorry, you're asking people to price out way too many cards at once for you. Pretty much the only stuff that's gonna fetch more than $0.50 per card are the cards with a rarity of "rare" (star symbol in bottom right corner of card) or higher, and promo cards.

Also, that Charizard you have is so beat up it's very likely functionally worthless.

Nice collection. Whether or not you sell is up to you!

If you want to get back into collecting, I'd recommend you hang onto all of them, as their value will likely increase even more over time.

How much in terms of value are we talking here in say 30-40 years?

The cards back in the 90's are not worth the paper they are printed on unless its the holo 1st edition charizard (even then bad value considering how "popular" and "desired" the card is)

decades have passed since the first wave of cards and seems none of them have ever gained any significant value.

cards would have likely needed to reach at least 500 dollars worth of value to be considered collectible imo... I doubt any cards will reach that level of value.

No one can predict how the value will increase or decrease.

Some simple online research can show you what their current values are.

The bolded part is not entirely true. Most of the holo rares have some value. Commons, uncommons, and regular rares, though? Those aren't nearly as valuable as there are substantially more of those in circulation. The paper they're printed on is pretty damn cheap, otherwise they wouldn't be able to sell packs at $4 per booster on the retail end, so even the commons and uncommons and regular rares are still likely worth the paper they're printed on.

Granted, the holo rares from that time period didn't reach the triple digit value, but most of them are worth at least the original cost of a booster pack at a bare minimum. And $500 is a shitty benchmark for trading card value. It's too high of a benchmark to use when determining whether a card is "worth keeping". $3 is a more realistic value as the card is going to still accrue value at a marginally better rate than the average person's bank account.

That said, if you're getting into Pokemon to make money, you're getting into the wrong trading card game. MTG would be a better one for that, but even MTG is a crapshoot on value, just less of one than Pokemon.
