While Ash's Lucario's Mega Evolved form is always impossible, and while his Gengar's both Mega Evolved and Gigantamaxed forms are also always impossible, I've finally checked the the Pocket Monster 2019 new series "Project Mew" trailer that has revealed that Ash has reunited with any of his following old Pokémon:
  • Bulbasaur (It has already permanently resisted its evolution)
  • Charizard (Both its branched Mega Evolved forms and its Gigantamaxed form are always impossible).
  • Snorlax (Its Gigantamax form is always impossible).
  • Heracross (Its Mega Evolved form is always impossible).
  • Bayleef
  • Quilava
  • Totodile
  • Donphan
  • Corphish
  • Infernape
  • Buizel
  • Oshawott
  • Pignite
  • Krookodile
  • Talonflame
  • Hawlucha
  • Noivern

But unfortunately, it is unknown whether or not the rest of Ash's old Pokémon listed below, along with the Squirtle Squad, is going to make its comeback appearance as in this series or are they going to be written out of the anime:
  • Squirtle
  • Kingler (Its Gigantamaxed form is always impossible)
  • Muk
  • Tauros (x30)
  • Noctowl
  • Swellow
  • Sceptile (Its Mega Evolved form is always impossible)
  • Torkoal
  • Glalie (Its Mega Evolved form is always impossible)
  • Staraptor
  • Torterra
  • Gliscor
  • Gible
  • Unfezant
  • Snivy
  • Scraggy
  • Leavanny
  • Palpitoad
  • Boldore

While, all Ash's released Pokémon, including Greninja, are physically written out the anime, we don't know which of their Japanese voice actors are available for their voice roles as any of Ash's Pokémon, include whether or not who's available for Unshō Ishizuka's replacement for the second voice role as Ash's Kingler, Muk, Swellow and Boldore and one of the Squirtle Squad members, but we'll see, thanks.

So you are trying to say in order to prevent Ash from using Mega/Dyna and Gigamantax they will let him use his reserves instead so he can keep up at the same level? Sounds pretty good. I myself wouldn't have thought.
