[Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl] Lvl 50+ Gabite Evolution

Hi,

I'm playing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. I have all 8 gym badges and want to catch a Gabite to evolve into a Garchomp but all the Gabites I am catching in the underground are lvl 50 or higher. Does this mean it won't be able to evolve as it's over lvl 48 already?

If a Pokemon evolves by reaching a certain level it will try to evolve everytime it levels up. So if you catch a Gabite at level 50 it'll evolve at level 51.
