I'm raising a special sweeping Charizard but I can't seem to think of a last move he could learn. Here's how he looks so far:

[email protected] Lens
Timid
Trait: Blaze
-Flamethrower/Heat Wave
-Dragon Pulse
-Focus Blast
-???

So can anyone give ideas? And don't say "Charizard is better as a physical sweeper" or something like that. His physical movepool is something I am aware of, but I want to be different.

You could try and go for one of the Hidden Powers such as Grass and Ice.

I would, in a snap, but I checked its HP and it is Dragon Type with Base Power of 39. Not happening.

Heh. And now that you've seen my Charizard, I cant use him against you tomorrow. Don't worry, I have plenty more pokes to choose from.

i know you want special, but the best choices would be brick break or EQ. unless you want to go with solarbeam, but without sunny day, its not that great

You get STAB from air Slash, so its a good choice. I think thats the best you can do though. Not bad actually.

air slash is a decent move to use with choice scarf when making a prediction. it's pretty safe on charizard when the opposing poke will switch out because of a fire weak.

I wanted to use AncientPower but that's an Egg move. If only he could learn Grass Knot. Other Fire types can. And I would use a physical move like EQ but his Atk is below 200.

Looks like I'll be using Air Slash. I thought all the types Flying covered were also covered by Fire but then I remembered Fighting.

Most people suggest Charizard as a physical sweeper. Few people notice his SpAtt is actually higher than his Att stat. Nothing is immune to Dragon/Fire moves, so he can hit everyone for at least neutral damage.

As for move suggestions, Air Slash is probably good cos of STAB. AncientPower is cool too, but that's an egg move.

One Word: Heatran. And it's growing prominent. But, with Focus Blast on your Charizard's move set you'll be alright. Most Heatran's don't have moves that are Super Effective against Charizard, so you should be fine.

Even Steel/Fire is neutral to Fire attacks.

Special Zard>physical Zard IMO...if you're really torn, you can always go mixed. But air slash is the best move to put in...

Nononononononononononononononononononononononononononono. Blast burn? Rule 1 of battling: never use hyper beam like moves...EVER! NO exceptions. And this is special Zard...EQ is physical just so you know. Besides, it already has flamthrower. what would blast burn do? Sorry for being a jerk, but blast burn=lol. It's just how nintendo made it...

And on the contrary, I would say using Blast Burn only reels in Tyranitar to get a free Dragon Dance!
In other words, Hyper Beam and its counterparts (Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Rock Wrecker, and Frenzy Plant) suck.

As far as Earthquake, why use Earthquake on a Special Attack-Based Charizard?

Blast burn is asking scarfcross to come in and OHKO you, and you can't switch on the recharging move, just so you know. Air slash though...really STAB is nice.
