Pretty simple really, what do you prefer on a Floor?

The soft warmth of carpet, the slippery and shiny, non-knee-burniness of wood, or the tileness of tiles..... :P

IMO, i like Wooden floors, that is if you have a Rug somewhere in the room aswell. Wooden floors are slippery which can be rather fun XD And they are easy to clean and look shiny. I do like Carpet in the Winter cause its more cosy, but i hate carpet burn ><

So i vote Wood.

Yes, this poll is pretty silly but still its interesting n.n()()

--- Why i left PC ---

<< left PC and PROUD OF IT >>

I've come to my senses--PC makes me absolutely sick, I hate it. No, this isn't an attention-grab like some morons say it is, it's my stand against the degredation of this once-great place. It's clear to me that PC has been absolutely ruined, and I'll never be back. I'd like to thank the few of you who stand with me, especially people like Silent Tattsu and Frostweaver, as they have given me the strength to rise above this place. I need to get on with my life, especially after some of you have perverted and absolutely obliterated the old PC spirit. I'm not welcome here, and if I may say so, I don't care to be here. Just you wait, and PC will be dead. Not the forums themselves, as, at length, was stated in another topic, but the spirit of PC, more important than any individual member or group of members. It's fading fast, and I won't be around when it disappears, leaving an empty shell of a forum filled with members who delight in this new, ruinous order. So I have chosen to be brave and leave, even if it is unpopular or considered un-PC-ish. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'm about as anti-PC as anyone can get right about now.
Nuff said. I don't need to explain, Kaga says it all. Please don't PM me, since i won't be here to check them. And while your at it stop giving Kaga bad rep points for his sig. One word i-m-m-a-t-u-r-e.

Hmm...this is actually the toughest question that's been presented to me in a while. I really don't have much experience with wood floors, as I've only ever lived in houses with carpeted floors, along with kitchen and bathroom tiling. I have been on wooden floors before, though, and I must say I really don't care for them. Not only am I constantly worried about splinters (I go barefoot a lot) but they're poor insulators, and whenever they creek they make me uneasy. Tile is fine, but dirt shows on it, and if something spills on it it takes forever to dry. Carpet is comfortable to walk on, stays warmer than wood or tile, and really doesn't show dirt as long as it's not white (and I've never known anyone with white carpet before...the carpeting in our house is taupe in some rooms, grey in some rooms, and a dark crimson in others. I'll pick carpet then, I think.

Tiles--you gonna get very cold in winter
carpet--You can never find an earing when it drops on to the floor! (That's why I don't like England that much. I always lose my earings this way.I now wear ear pins instead=.=)
Wood--Moderate temperature, easy to find objects, easy to clean, easy to.....

Yo! Wood rocks!
I'm finally back...after 5 years XD

Tiles. only because i hate vaccuming and my mom's always yelling at me not to scratch the hard wood floors.... -_-;
That sounds like my mom. :P
But I scrach them by accident with my computer chair anyways. XD

That's why I pick carpet. Sounds cozy and warm.
Wooden floors are so dirty.
I've been living on top of them all my life so trust me. :P

Well, for bedrooms, I like carpet. For kitchens and bathrooms, tile. And for the living room I would like wood. It's pretty, easy to keep clean, and you can add a large rug somewhere so you would still have something soft to walk on. ^_^; I would choose carpet, but it can get so messy. My grandparents had large tile in their old living room, and it always felt cold, and whenever you dropped something, then there was no doubt that it would break.

From what I've heard, wood floors are nice, but you have to be extremely careful not to spill anything on it. I guess it reacts with it in a way...
Overall, I'd just say tile. Carpets are nice, but they can become pretty raggedy-looking after a while. Tile can be bought in a lot of different designs, plus they can take spills of different sorts much better then the other two can. Uncoincidentally, my whole house has tile flooring hehe...

My grandparents have wooden floors at their lake house, and it's really nice! It doesn't really stain or anything whenever you spill something. It's easy to wipe stuff off of it and sweep, while tile has those little gaps and stuff, and dirt gets caught in between it. I guess that just from having both tile and wood, I prefer wood. That's my opinion, though.

My house is mostly carpeted so I'd have to go with carpets. We have tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms and the laundry room and the room I call the wine room have cement floors. But every other room has carpets. I do like wood floors though. My cousin's house is mainly wood floors. And they keep it so clean and shiny. That would never happen in my house...

I've never had tile, but a member in my church did, so that's where we got our opinion. We were actually considering installing wood flooring all around the house, (with the exception of the kitchens and bathrooms) but all this talk about spills made us change to tile. A family like ours makes a lot of those little mistakes, so we didn't want to run the risk hehe...

The dirt is rather annoying though. I guess they all have their pros and cons!

Even your bedrooms?! I couldn't imagine that...ugh. Yeah, that'd the only problem with carpets. it's so freakin hard to get stains out.

ha ha! I always create new white bits on my wood floor!
Reason: I always drip water when I carry water for my parents. :P

Depends on what room. For a bedroom I like carpet because it's more of a leisure type thing, which is how you should fell in your room. The living room is wood, because it's more formal and that’s where our visitors are most of the time so you got to have it looking nice. The kitchen is wood also just for the simple fact that it is ALOT easier to clean up the tile, although I have never tried a carpet flooring on kitchen, that would be kind of a mess though?
Over all I'd go with wood

Tile, definitely. Chairs and other things move easier on it, its more convenient to work off of, andI dont care about the appearance much anyways. I have a pretty deep red carpet in my room atm.

Of course Im very computer-minded in this decision, so I could make my room a better place to game/compute. XP

CARPET.

I hate this house because of its lack of soft floors. ;_; Gah. We've got tile in the foyer, the basement, the bathrooms, the kitchen(s), and the rest of the house is hardwoord flooring. The only part that's carpeted is the middle part of the stairs. o.o; It's so annoying because the floors are always cold, and you don't get anything soft to walk around on in the mornings. ><;;

Plus, I've always liked vacuuming carpet better - you know how you can see what you've already done because of the way the colour darkens when you run the vacuum over a spot? Yeah. XD;;

I feel your pain. =\ When we renovated our house, my parents decided to get hard-word floors because carpet was more expensive. >>; I hate it, there is absolutely no carpet in our house ( except for on the stairs and my mom's room, but her room was the only room that wasn't renovated). Carpet is so much easier to lay on, and it is a lot easier to clean too. There is so much more dust bunnies on the floor now because of the wretched hard-wood. --; Yeah, so GO CARPET!
