Maybe at the cost of a summon, but it is very versatile. Sure it's a summon but that also means Premature and Call can add to this card. It's more versatile than Smashing or Fissure because this card is easier for winning late game, and it knocks f/d.

thats really weak how that banned the envoys and yata.i mean yata is my favorite card.i wonder when yata and the envoys are ever going to see the light of day?
Umm...and that changed that occurred countless banlists ago has now become relevant because..?

Well, regardless: as long as the banlist people have any sense in their heads those three cards won't leave the banned section. They're just way too cheap: one of them is an unbreakable lock, the second is an OTKO unto itself, the third is a ridiculously overpowered beatstick with crazy removal action, and all of them are way too easy to deploy. I for one am glad to see them gone. If you want envoys, go play traditional format. xP

Aaaanyway, zombies are all over the place (Along with the regular monarch crowd), but my personal favorite on the newer builds is definitely Skill Drain burn decks; got to love how they bite both zombie and monarch at the same time. xD And some of them run Wave-Motion Cannon too. *Dangles in front of Frostweaver* We all love WMC, don't we?

Aaand as a side-note: would anyone care to explain what Transmigration Prophecy did to end up limited? Is it for the discard fodder synergy with Volcanic Shell or something else? =O I'm also - personally - of the opinion that banning Confiscation was overkill. How about limiting Raiza instead, eh? <.<

Transmigration Prophecy was used as a severe counter strategy to anything in the graveyard. Zombie got murdered by it in japan (they had the luxury to tech transmigration prophecy there and bounce the zombies before Il Bud/Zombie Master can bring it back.) D-Hero Malicious was to some extent hurt by it too. It bounced crucial cards like Golden Chest of Sealing, and probably Emissary of Darkness Gors (a 2700 beatstick that you can special summon from your hand if your field has nothing and you got attacked directly. It'll special summon itself AND create a lv 7 light token *cough*and you think metamorphosis over here is bad? A darn token makes up cyber ogre 2 or king dragun, try that*cough* with an attack power equal to damage taken. This card was limited to 1 last banlist), Light and Darkness Dragon and so on... Plenty of these overkill japanese promos cannot be special summoned (or is only a beatstick if they are), but transmigration prophecy is both offensive and defensive by stopping graveyard cards and returning these monsters/spells to the deck to draw again. Pot of Avarice is generally too slow because 5 monsters aren't easy now that trooper is gone, but transmigration prophecy fits anywhere.

You see how the misuse of transmigration prophecy caused someone to totally lose a battle because Malicious pulled out a "3rd" copy through using it. It got a lot more play too.

Again I never think that monarchs themselves are broken, but rather methods to get them out so fast. Now that they shafted D-heroes (well, until Plasma arrives >>) so they are a lot slower. Soul Exchange bounces you but they can't attack so you can stop them before they become +1. Apprentice/Soul Control Monarch is a lot easier to stop than T Heroes or Perfect Circle. But yes indeed... monarchs make most other 1 tribute monsters a joke, with sadly only a few exceptions.

(and yes I know, skill drain burn was so awesome that there's 2 skill drain burn in top 16, and there's only one apprentice monarch ;p)

If the zombie trend keeps up, I think RFG decks may make a return as well... afterall, an even better method to kill zombies is to just remove them so they can't revive. Skill Drain can delay them a lot. Royal Oppression stops revive too but you can't special summon either. I am looking at RFG personally, really.

Newsflash, Frostweaver: D-Hero Plasma (or, as they finally decided on calling it, Bloo-D) has already been released in the form of a tin promo. In short, it has arrived.

I thought that they changed Bloo-D to Plasma because Blood is obviously taboo (Blood Magician => Rapid Fire Magician???)... Afterall, plasma does relate to blood. Thought that's the official name...

I dunno. I'm sure that people will try to use it. Afterall, one sided skill drain is extremely tempting, and many people for once put their hope on a 3rd tribute monster. It's crazy, isn't it? I personally don't like it because I mean, 3 tribute o_O; Not easy at all without Dandylion and stuff like that...

No, you're right, it's called Plasma. My bad, I got it confused with the WC07 version. Sorry about that.

Um...it's a Special Summon, so Scapegoat is fair game ;).
