Nice city-banner thingy, Alistair! I would love to see it completed, and colored, I guess. I like how you showcase very small things that have nothing to do with Pokémon. It's always something interesting. I hope to see the finished product. :D

Your tiles are great. Although there are some things that bug me.
4 of the grass tiles look too dull and monotone for my tastes.
The blue roof on the triangle house looks a little too bright.
The leaves on the trees in Routa A look like bubbles put together.
The trees on BriarKnoll Forest look too bright compared to the other tiles.
Middlefield and ThornField City are great.
The DP Crane is awesome! I love it. Keep up the good work!
You made me interested in spriting :>

Well, since I have been thinking about sprite theft lately, and the fact that I am going to be spriting outlines for Pokémon fangames and hacks, I made this website. Now, I am not showcasing it or anything, but it contains the Creative Commons license that applies to all of my work. If you are using anything of mine, you have already agreed to the license.

Click here to read the license.

Onto spriting news, I have been working on the Wicked City thing a bit more, but I am not at my computer at the moment. When I get home, I will post the new version of it.

That's an excellent idea. The part about including the licence. Maybe edit it into the top of the first post for the convince of most members that look at only the first post then leave a comment?

Well, since it is the weekend, I am spriting for Pokémon Acanthite. Because people like to steal these sprites (because they are Kyledove style, presumably), I am watermarking them and JPEGing them. I am sorry, but I must do this if I don't want people stealing them anymore. These are the ones I did last weekend.

I think the tiles you made for Fangking Omega's Pokemon Acanthite are among the best I have ever seen. I wish you could continue making tiles in this style.

Well, it looks like CheeseBoy isn't going to actually critique my work. Anyway, thanks for the comments, guys.

As I am going to satart doing, I am showcasing my Acanthite work a week after I make it. So, shere is what I did last week. I made a bridge.

As you can see, I have a small demo of the bridges in action in my signature.

Since it appears Waudby has shown absolutely no interest in using it, this tree is available to use.

Nice tiles, Alistair! Indeed, the tiles you made for Pokémon Acanthite are among the best. I believe that you should saturate them just a small bit, because, from what I see from Kyledove's new saturated style, it looks much better, and it expresses the detail and what they are being used for. I would love to see those trees more vibrant and colorful.

The small trees you originally made for Waudby's Pokémon Odyssey area great as well! I just don't like the area with the stump on it, the shape is strange. Maybe making them a bit larger would look more interesting, and saturating them a bit as well.

Good luck with making more tiles, Alistair! You're improving. ^^

The tiles are awesome as always Alistar but why do you post the jpged work in the first place?
I understand these tiles are exclusive for Pokemon Acanthite and you would like to receive critique on them, but by posting it, aren't you going against your own licence you were talking about in earlier posts? If it is on the net, isn't it free to use when credit is given?

I don't think Alistair wants his Pokémon Acanthite tile work used at all, even if credit is given. That's why he's JPEG-ing them.

Neo-Dragon, I am going to refer to my website:

5. I do reserve the right to deny any person permission to use my work.
6. I reserve the right to grant any single person special permissions to use my work.**

**Special permissions include exclusive usage, exclusive display of tiles, etc.
I am not going against my own license at all. If you have been to the Creative Commons website, you would know that you can make addendums to your license.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. Esmas, the reason why they are still desaturated is because the ones used in Acanthite are still desaturated. If Fang decides to saturate the palettes a bit, he would probably tell me.

Thanks for the comments.

I haven't been really doing much lately, as life has interfered. I have been concentrating more on school, and one of the bands I am in is practicing for our school's talent show. Anyway, I did do one thing yesterday. Here is a map. It has Route 41, silverwind town, and Heisenburg all on one image.

Yeah, I noticed that error after I posted the map. There are also some tree side errors, too. As you might have noticed, I am making some revamps of old tiles. I will also attempt to make some new ones, but I cannot promise anything (Revamping old ones is a lot quicker than making new ones).

The map looks really nice, but the placement of the trees in the route are poor. They seem like their in rows, instead of bunched up. Also, try to not make just one tree dominate over all of the others. If you decide to use more than one tree, make it so that one doesn't seem too overpopulated, compared to the other(s). Also, with that path tile you used for the second town, it seems as if that type of path is meant to be straight, with only bends and curves around corners, unlike how you made tried to make it seem more natural. It looks kind of weird to me. One more thing, I don't like the color of the wild grass. It seems a bit too green, and doesn't flow with the regular grass color at all. Make it more like the little fern type things that are spread around.
Aside from that, and the few tile errors you mentioned, it seems as a generally nice bunch of maps. :D

Now that is what critique is about. Telling everything wrong with the map and how to fix it. Thanks for that. I havent recieved proper credit in a long time.

I am going to answer, though. For one, I am going to say this: each area of the combined was made individually of each other. I originally did not intend to merge them all together, but I did. That is why there are straight areas: they did not fully connect. Abot the tree thing, where I live, maples and oaks surround me, with the occasional pine tree. That is why I mapped the trees that way. The triangular one that is shaded like the big, rounder tree is also a type of pine tree. The path is supposed to look like a worn road that is made of circular bricks with grass growing over in a good amount of areas. I know, I failed to protray that. For the palette of the wild grass, I just don't like the wild Pokémon grass to blend in with the ground. I like it to be a bit poppier. The original palette was just the same palette as the tree. That, and more dull palettes just don't suit it. Believe me, I have tried.

But I do love and appreciate your critiqe. Since I made the maps in RPG Maker (I know, I cheated this time), I can easily edit them and I will when I add to it. I will take your critique to mind.

But a small update: I am working on making a still water tile, as well as a waterfall tile. The waterfall tile is likely to be an edit of an earlier tile I made, granted it will be animated.

About the waterfall thing, (I'm speaking for the world here) what I would like to see, is waterfalls going to the sides, and also going backwards. Perhaps even waterfalls that can curve to the shapes of mountains. (If you get what I mean)
Also, I could give you full on ratings of your maps that you make if you just want to ask. That one that I gave above, I was actually in a rush when making that, and only took a quick look at the map. I can go quite extensive :D

Awesome work on the map, Alistair! You have a very unique style to all of your maps and your tiles, but I can't find the correct word. I'd like to say "cartoonish", but there's more to it than just that. For some reason, I really like the grass/bush tiles (I'm not quite sure what it is), it just looks very appealing to me.

Great job with everything! I can't wait to see some more tiles by you.
