I'm not a vegi, but I want to be one.
My parents won't allow me to turn completly meat-free, since they say 'I need it' -_-

But I'll drop meat when I'll turn 16.
I just find it so evil to those poor creatures..
Personally I don't find it to be so evil, in fact, I find it to be quite delicious and nutritious. Since you've already made up your mind to become a vegi when you turn 16, might as well enjoy all the meat you can until then. Being vegetarian is probably the more noble thing to do I guess, but I just don't have the stomach for it I'm afraid. Can you imagine how hard it would be? D:

Take it from someone who IS a vegetarian. It's not the end of the world. You can still eat veggies, ramen noodles( haha), tofu, (this is said too often by vegis... but it's delicious), umm... cookies, pasta, and much more. Meat is but ONE thing. It's not like you eat it everyday. If you do... then you have a serious imbalance in your diet.

Seriously? I eat meat at least twice every day. But, I've always thought of it as balanced because I include other food groups in those same meals.

Beef has a lot of the nutritional needs for your body, so does lamb, lamb meat is also very healthy for you as I heard. Chicken is also nutritious in soups, that is why it is recommended when you have a cold. PORK is the worst meat you can eat. It's like having lipids for a meal. It also clogs your blood streams. Pork has no nutritional value, that's why its cheap compared to other meats.

Pork is good to rid yourself of evil spirits apparently. XD My friend actually tested that theory once. There was this girl who was obsessed with him, and somehow put "muti" in his food that made him feel attracted towards her, more than he would usually be. He said the solution was to eat boiled pork. So he went out and bought pork and we did at my house. He claimed he felt a lot better afterwards.

0_0 wow, that girl is craaaazy. But what you stated there was based on belief. He tested it, but Oh well, whatever floats his boat.

Believe me, being a vegetarian isnt the end of the world though. You'll also notice a decrease in nasty bodily oils like the kind that secretes in a layer on your face. So in the long run, less zits, pimples, and the like.

There's not enough "a"s to describe how crazy she was. -.- Oh well, at least he's over and done with her.

I've never really had a problem with pimples and zits...I could do with more testosterone though. =D Something tells me the answer doesn't lie in vegetables.

Unless you were kicked in the good spot continuously for a year, I think you'd be fine, haha, people who are obese are less likely to have success, not because of their body form, but because their body exherts too much heat near the baby makers. ( i'm getting off topic.) but what i am doing is listing the benifits of being vegetarian. :D

Nah, I've been told I was dropped on the head a lot when I was a baby though. I'm not obese, if anything, I'm underweight. XD I could do with the needed meat, neh? ;<

All muscle tissue is very high in protein, containing all of the essential amino acids. Muscle tissue is very low in carbohydrates and contains no fiber [1]. The fat content of meat can vary widely depending on the species and breed of animal, the way in which the animal was raised including what it was fed, the anatomical part of its body, and the methods of butchering and cooking. Wild animals such as deer are typically leaner than farm animals, leading those concerned about fat content to choose game such as venison, despite the increased danger of exposure to chronic wasting disease [2]; however, centuries of breeding meat animals for size and fatness is being reversed by consumer demand for meat with less fat. Animal fat is relatively high in saturated fat and cholesterol, which have been linked to various health problems, including heart disease and arteriosclerosis. Meat can transmit certain diseases. Undercooked pork sometimes contains the parasites that cause trichinosis or cysticercosis.
Chicken is sometimes contaminated with Salmonella enterica disease-causing bacteria. One of the five basic tastes sensed by specialized receptor cells on the human tongue is Umami, or savoriness, often described as meaty taste. Various forms of imitation meat have been created to satisfy some vegetarians' taste for the flavor and texture of meat, and there is speculation about the possibility of growing in vitro meat from animal tissue.

Wow, you vegetarians have the answers to everything. XD Honestly, most vegis I know are always quick to back up their claims with facts, I suppose. Hm, let me try to digest all that.

It's too late for me to be a vegi.
I tasted it, it tasted good, AND I'M GONNA EAT IT!!!

I meen, I'm not a "I LUV 2 EAT COWS!!!" person, I just eat meat because it's good, and it gives me protein.
so I'll never be a vegan. end of story.

LOL this thread made me hungry so I went and had a piece of lamb.. XD

I thought about going Veg because of unethical treatment of animals, until I realised one person not eating as much would make no difference whatsoever.

We're at the top of the food chain, so like other creatures theres nothing wrong with eating other species. Adding meat is an important factor and one of the easiest ways to maintain a balanced diet.

And of course ITS SO TASTY :D

I don't mind eating meat. I'd like to think the animal was happy before it died but you never know. The meat I get isn't from the supermarket and it tastes better, the chickens are bigger too and seem to have more meat and fat. So I HOPE they have been able to run around and be happy, well, apparently these animals are supposed to be well cared for, for religious reasons. So fingers crossed that they are.

I couldn't turn vegetarian..... I'd be a walking talking stick within a week. I need the fat more than anything really. Nuts, seeds and potatoes don't provide me with nearly enough fat.

IMO people who take the trend too far like not wearing clothes made from wool or leather make me laugh. It's really quite pathetic that people go to that extent.

I couldn't be totally vegetarian, I love steak and bacon too much.. god's gift to humanity =D
