I actually train pokemon I do like a lot, this both manage to be between them, however, I will rathe rnot spend my time training them if they are not worth it for competitive play.

I have my attention in carnivine due it being a pure grass tipe, and Magnezone...well I love magnetone, and Magenezone looks cool.

I'm just asking, are they worth it?

And don't come with the usual garchomp T-tar recommendations, I am not interested in OU pokemon.

I know I've seen a few Magnezone around, so they can't be that bad... However, I haven't used them, so I don't know.

magnazone is a very good poke, one of the best skarm counters and a bolt beam resister.
carnivine is iffy

Magnezone is nice with HP Ice, flash cannon, and Tbolt...I'm not so good at this though...with magnezone I mean, so that's all the "help" I can give you.

Carnivine doesn't have the speed to be considered a sweeper.

Lol, your mom plays poke, I envy you.

Thanks to all, I'm raising magnezone for competitive battles, and maybe later after completing my team a carnivine, just for me to be happy.

If you wish to use Carnivine, a SubSeeding set could work. Although it's difficult to use this strategy with its very low speed base, Stun Spore can be included to help Carnivine set up Substitute. Power Whip grants it a great STAB move, however, Sludge Bomb can replace it so Carnivine can hurt other Grass types, of which are immune to Leech Seed. Carnivine's offensive movepool is rather limited, but I'd consider it good enough so its decent stats aren't wasted. Its low base speed and defences means it will have a difficult time facing against strong threats, but it can be worth using in the lower tiers.
