Lucario is my favorite Pokemon, and because it is so versatile, I plan to breed a lot to figure out the best combination of speed and offense.

These are my current plans:

Jolly: Close Combat, Swords Dance, Crunch, Extremespeed
Adamant: Agility, Close Combat, Stone Edge, Blaze Kick
Timid: Aura Sphere, Calm Mind, Dragon Pulse, Shadow Ball
Modest: Agility, Aura Sphere, Psychic, Dark Pulse
Naive: Close Combat, Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse, Extremespeed

The speed boosting Natured ones have offence boosting moves, and the offence boosting Natured ones have Agility. I know Agility is nonstandard, but like I said, I'm experimenting, and Lucario's speed is just below ideal, especially without a Nature boost.

If the Adamant one can kick off an Agility early in the game, it can shred through Heracross and Flying types. The Timid one can catch Dragons on the switch, and if the Modest one can get Agility off, it'll maul Weavile. The Naive one is for trickery, like fooling Physical/Special walls into thinking they can sponge your hits. Both STAB moves are for solid damage no matter the opponent.

All EV spreads are standard/obvious, but the Naive one will have 164 Atk/164 Sp.Atk/180 Speed. Item wise, I'll be switching between Life Orb, Expert Belt, Muscle Band, and Wise Glasses until I find the right one for each Lucario. No choice items, for obvious reasons. (Although a Naughty mixed sweeper could work with Choice Scarf.)

Comments? Advice?

I already said I'm not sure. This is all for experiemtning, so I'll be trying several items with each, to figure out what works best.

Life Orb, Expert Belt, Muscle Band, and Wise Glasses are potentials. No choice items. I already have enough choice Pokes on my teams.

Hmm...Focus Sash could work. My curent Lucario has never been OHKO'ed, but I have yet to fight in a "real" competitive battle. I currently don't have a Rapid Spinner on my team, not because I don't know the worth of it, but because I just...am not too good with strategy and fail at using support and walling Pokes. ><

Focus Sash on the Naive one sounds good, though, since it's even more vulnerable to OHKO. Wait...but it doesn't have Agility...so the Adamant or Modest one then.

Modest for a sp.sweeper/Adamant for a physical sweeper/Naive for mixed, I think it was. Basiacally depends on your team's needs. Timid is also an option, but I don't think it is seen much. It has low speed, 90 base speed is average, but it is not so bad. But in all, a base 115 sp.attack, is Lucario's best stats, so you'll be wanting to go with Modest. Evidense of stats: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/448.shtml Just scroll down to the bottom if it isn't already there.

Lucario @:Choice Specs
Trait: Steadfast
Modest Nature
Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Aura Sphere
Flash Cannon. Bullet Punch's base power will be lowered, as it is a Physical attack. So basiacally, this an alternate way to go for it. Or Hp steel, but for lower base power, it isn't an option. All other attacks are either Physical, or supportive. Which is a defensive move, obviously, Choice specs will lock you into that move, but you want to be doing that anyway. Big no-no.

.. Why Flash Cannon if you already have Aura Sphere? Flash Cannon only covers Ice and Rock that Aura Sphere covers plus more

That Lucario you descibed is my current one. xP Sorta...my current Lucario has the wrong nature, but to be honest I really am trying to shy away from a Choice'd Lucario. Also, Flash Cannon isn't worth much on offense (I only keep it for Battle Tower, but in competitive it's bleh).

I know his Sp.Atk is higher than Attack, but he has a lot of potential for Physical IMO, especially with Swords Dance. That's why I'm working with both and swapping them based on what other team members I'm using. I have about ten Pokemon in all that I'm working with, and I want a Lucario to work no matter the team.

And without speed nature boost, Salac, or Agility, Lucario gets out run by the base 100 speed crowd, which unfortuanetely is a lot. ><

Stone Edge is cool. I had it on one of them to use against Flyers. But it wouldn't work on that Lucario you described. :P Psychic ftw.

See, I love that Lucario's moveset is so large that it can be mixed and matched like that.

Try:

Lucario @:Choice Band
Trait: Steadfast
Adamant Nature
Stone Edge/Earthquake
Cross Chop/Blaze Kick/Bullet Punch
Extremespeed
Close Combat. Physical style.

I believe EQ is unadvised on Lucario, IIRC. =/ Close Combat >>> Cross Chop, and I wouldn't do two of the same type. I did consider Bullet Punch, but preferred Extremespeed. Blaze Kick is on several of my planned Lucario. But Choice Band and no speed boost? Death by Salamence and Garchomp, much? =S

That's what Steadfast is for, and it's defense is actually more higher then you think, beleive it or not.

Ev's: 252 atk/252 spd//4 def. There. Why? He doesn't need the defense as much. But if you want a defensive Ev spread, here. *Sigh*. 252 def/252 atk/4spd. See how you are leaving out speed on a physical sweeper, if you decide to go with defense? Iv's are an option here, you know.

Even if it is, 4 EV's aren't going to change a thing XD

Hm? Defensive spread, what? I didn't want a defensive spread. =S I think defensive only works on Substitute/Calm Mind, and even then it's not advised.

Steadfast rarely comes in handy (As opposed to Inner Focus's uselessness, lol). All of them will have 252 speed ('cept the mixed sweeper). And this is assuming 31 IV's in speed and offensive stats. I've already got the parents planned out for that.

I'm just trying to experiment in balancing speed and power without choice items. ^^;;;

Iv's: 31 in Hp, def (to insure survival). atk, and speed. (To outrun). Ev spread: 252 atk/252 speed/4 hp. Now that will help balance it out a bit, if not, 6 Ev's in hp.

Four 31's? Ouch. The best IV spread I've ever managed is 27, 31, 21, 31, 28, 31. But of course, 31's are desirable! ^^;;; Just not always possible... :P

Yeah. But i've seen quite a number people in the "Best Bred Baby thread" qith four iv's in their pokemon's stats. You should post there to, http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=93877 I myself, found out in 3rd gen, that my Swampert had 31 iv's in four of his stats.

Well actually a Pokemon COULD have 31 IV's in ALL it's stats but that is nearly impossible...
