Hey, I'm looking to use Clefable in one of my teams, but this thing has so many options I'm not sure what to do. I could stick with the Advance style Calm Mind Bolt-Beamer, but I'd like to really mess things up with that Magic Guard trait. I'm also thinking of using it with Trick Room, counters it's slow Speed and can really mess things up. It could even do a Blissey, having Encore as an option to mess opponents around further

The point is, there's a load that Clefable can do, but I want to try and narrow it down to a few options and decide which one or two I wish to EV train.

Don't forget Clefable can still get both Softboiled and Seismic Toss from the Emerald Move Tutor, as well as Magic Guard trait if you evolve after Pal Parking (and with a lot of luck).

Clefable @: Chople Berry
Trait: Magic Guard
Calm Nature (+ Special Defense - Attack)
Softboiled/Wish
Thunderbolt
Calm Mind
Thunder Wave/Reflect/Shadow Ball. Just using some of the options you gave in your Post.

Electric + Ghost doesn't give great type coverage though. At least with Bolt beam you'll still hit most things for neutral damage.

Yeah. If it's coverage you want, then switch out Shadow Ball for T-Bolt.

Hhm. I'm really more looking for ways to abuse that Magic Guard trait. With no damage from Spikes/Stealth Rock, Clefable can come in on a lot more stuff.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Guard
EV: 252 HP / 100 Def / 158 SpDef
Thunder Wave
Encore
Softboiled
Reflect/Light Screen/Seismic Toss

AnnoyerFable. Drop speed with Thunder Wave, Encore to fudge things over. Best used in combination with Spikes/Stealth Rock. Adding the screens just makes you last even longer with Softboiled

I noticed that I made a typo. Sorry, meant "Ice Beam".

Yeah, I know about the Calm Mind set. I'm trying to explore other options for Clefable, because the possibilities are huge.

Clefable @ Choice Specs
Trait: Magic Guard
EV: 252 HP / 252 SpAtt / 6 SpDef
Nature: Modest
Ice Beam
Flamethrower/Shadow Ball/Focus Blast
Grass Knot
Thunderbolt

SpecsFable. Can hurt quite a lot with a nice variety of special moves.

Clefable @ Choice Band
Trait: Magic Guard
EV: 252 HP / 252 Att / 6 SpDef
Nature: Adamant
Meteor Mash
Return
Focus Punch/Brick Break
Sing/Encore/Stealth Rock

Unfortunately not as many options for a physical attacker, but Meteor Mash as an option is always funny.
