Blastoise @ not sure - plz help
Naive?
Max Speed and Attack EVs

-Rapid Spin
-Earthquake
-Surf

I am pretty new, so please offer help and explain why so that I can learn.

Thank you!

Blastoise is far too bulky and slow to have maximum speed EV's. Blance out it's defencive EV's and 252 in Attack or Sp.Attack, or even balance them out and make it mixed. I would use:

[email protected]
120 Sp.Defense 120 Defense 80 Attack 120 Sp.Attack
Quiet/Brave
Haze
Ice Beam
Surf
Earthquake

Well, Use should use Blastoise's power to it's full extent...

Ok, thanks alot! I think I will go with Quiet, since most of these attacks are Special.

No, sorry. Blastoise is one of my favorite pokemon, I have plenty of experience with the shell dude. If you aren't gonna max blastoise's HP, don't use it. Just don't. You will be brutally destroyed by powerful tanks and sweepers. Earthquake is lol on blastoise. sorry, no STAB and you shouldn't be staying in against powerful electric types anyways.

Haze is a nice move for it since sweepers and tanks like curselax can't blindly power up in front of its face and OHKO it.

Blastoise pretty much needs surf since you won't be investing much in SAtk or Atk, or you SHOULDN'T be anyways...and its ability helps it a lot.

Blastoise's power to its full extent? What power? It can't attack very well, that's what swampert is for. Blastoise was made to spin...

Ice beam, yawn, and rest are good ideas for the last slot. I prefer rest since I have blissey w/ aromatherapy, but that's just me. Ice beam works well too, since you might need to duke it out with mence or other dragons. Counter and mirror coat are other options, but require a lot of prediction and probably rest or wish support as well.

Sorry, using blastoise as an attacker is mere novelty...it hardly gets by as a defensive poke.

so do you think i should replace earthquake with rapidspin? i want to use blastoise as hazer more than an attacker, but would like attacking to be secondary.

BNlastoise can't use EQ...it just can't. IT only has the attack to OHKO jolteon, most other electric types come in and eat it like candy. If you want a physical attacking blastoise, give it focus punch to nail counters on the switch. And relaxed nature or bold nature. Depends on the set. But yeah, blastoise needs rapid spin unless you already have a spinner.

Uh, no. blastoise...have you even seen its base stats? Seriously people, blastoise can't attack! Well anyways. Don't use it if you're gonna make it an attacker...just don't. and lol, crobat is a terrible hazer. it hazes, and then gets OHKOed...the only fragile hazer I've seen work is gengar. Crobat CAN haze, but it isn't so good at it. The CB set is one of the best.

Wait, what? Base 85 Sp.ATK isn't so bad. You make it seem as if it is uttely useless.

Yeah, but not to the point where it should be a sole attacker. IT just doesn't work, I've tried everything with blastoise. Really...physicakl attacks are even worse...what gen BTW? Point is , blastoise is a wall pokemon...

Exactly. If it had speed, and a bit more base sp.atk, yeah. But heck no with that speed and sp.atk. It's that of a worm. (I changed it a bit, Anti).

Sorry, come up with your own line. It is mine!!!!

But yeah, blastoise doesn't have the stats to pull off attacker. You'd need a BPer to pass speed and special attack...so smeargle basically, for it to work. Physical is easier to pass, but both are novelty anyways, and don't really work.

Worm? Stick? A bit different if you think about it. But i'll keep thinking, and eventually come up with my own line. And Ambipom/Scizor etc. Can also work. Smeargle with this set:

Smeargle @: Focus Sash
Trait: Being whatever the hell you are. Own Tempo
Adamant/Jolly Nature
Spore
Belly Drum
Baton Pass
[instert Phsical move here] And there's many other set's too.

I want to use a Scizor for BP. I could get it to BP some nice attack and speed stats to blastoise. Blastoise still wouldnt be my main attacker, more of a hazer who can attack if the need arises. i like the focus punch idea alot.

You know, Baton passing to a hazer...doesn't using haze kinda defeat the purpose of baton passing? Just saying...

Yes, and there are far better pokemon to take scizor's BP, so blastoise really should be a defensive pokemon. EQ is still a waste. Surf and ice beam work fine...blastoise's intent isn't to inflict damage anyways. Blastoise makes a MEAN spinner.

Blastoise
-Haze
-Rapid Spin
-Surf
-Ice Beam

That should haze and spin and take out some ground and dragon types. Which nature though?
