It's decided that i'd use a UU Team for wi-fi battles.

Ursaring @ :Choice Band/Scarf
Trait: Guts
Adamant/Jolly Nature
Return
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Crunch/Night Slash/Close Combat/Stone Edge/Focus Punch. The problems i'm having are what to go with. Should I choose CB or Choice Scarf? I'm having trouble with the last slot as well. Return for STAB, Earthquake, well, ALL Physical Sweepers need it. Aerial Ace provides coverage and is powered up with one Nature and Choice Band.

Just. LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLOLLOL. Guts negates Flame Orb. Protect=LOl to the extreme. Facade=crap. U-Turn=wtf? The only good move you have there is Close Combat. He is not meant to be suportive. Um. Anti/Richard? Back me up please. Edit: This made my day.

Facade + STAB + Flame Orb does better than Return though. That Guts bonus overcomes the -Att from Burn, IIRC

Well I still don't like the fact of Facade, don't think it's a very good suggestion, and I personally think it's a crappish, sucky move.

Ursaring @ :Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252 Atk/ 200 Def/ 52 HP
-Return
-Earthquake
-Avalanche
-Hammer Arm

A good set against the average physical monster.

Not all physical sweepers need Earthquake. That is a myth.

Avalanche and Hammer Arm? What the hell are those for? I don't like novelties, just the standards.

I'll only recommend Facade for a Normal type with Guts, and here with CB and Ursaring's attack, it's a monster. Consider it an option with a Sleep Talk set, and status absorb. You'll be surprised at the results, don't knock it til you've tried it.

Simple. With Ursarang's Speed & DEF, it WILL get hit first. For a powerful Avalance. Fighting + Ice hits many types for at least neutral damage.

Well okay. But Avalanche sounds kinda noveltish. I need to know for sure, what the standard is.

Uh...you might wanna use sleep talk. you can switch into breloom's spore and other sleep inducers and use a gut-powered sleep talk to dish out punishment. It is especially tough with Choice band...wow! It has quite some attack power with CB! ITs defenses aren't great, so you might wanna bulk it up a bit.

Hhm, standard can often mean predictable, you know. A bit of trying something unexpected or different can sometimes turn the tide as they mispredict what you're going to do.

Aren't you somebody who usually tells people to not insult other people's advice? Anyway, what Bleach and Sunshine suggested is common. I've seen it used many times.

But the fact is, if you use Standards right, NOT anybody, is going to predict or know what you're going to do next.

Novelty sets do have a glaring downside: they don't work as well as the standards almost always.

Oncve your opponent figures you out, the surprise will be gone and they'll find a way to defeat it. You have to unleash tyour monster at just the right time, or it won't work.

Exactly. Why can't people make good comments and suggestions like this?

Actually, most people have made good suggestions...though protect=no. Flame orb is a nice option though. The best guts user (one of them, hera is the best) is swellow. It's fast, strong, and EVIL with guts on.

But since you do not care about swellow, forget that lol. Ursurang needs night slash or crunch so that ghosts don't wall it rediculously. I'll use Jimmyray's set as an example. You need to go for coverage AND power on attacking pokemon...just so you know JR.

It has poor speed, that or torterra's I believe...so scarfing it is a waste. I'd bulk it up, beef up its attack, and use it to switch in to staus inducers, especially sleep inducers, and destroy teams.

This is standard

[email protected]/Flame Orb (In this gen Guts negates the -50% att of being burnt, so it will get the att boost without any negatives)
Jolly Nature
252 ATT 252 SPEED 6 HP
Facade
Earthquake / Close Combat / protect (Protect solely has the purpose of activating Toxic/Flame Orb to activate Guts)
Shadow Claw / Crunch
Fire Punch

STAB Facade + Facade's secondary effect boost of power from status infliction + Guts boost = pwnage, other attacks are for coverage. Ive only seen this with some Baton Passed speed support, but it does rip things apart.

or theres these from smogon if you dont have any speed support.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Return
move 2: Shadow Claw / Stone Edge
move 3: Earthquake / Close Combat
move 4: Fire Punch
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Guts
nature: Adamant / Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

name: Sleep Talker
move 1: Return / Body Slam / Facade
move 2: Stone Edge / Earthquake / Fire Punch
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
item: Leftovers
ability: Guts
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd

Still this set is based on the guts it activates by Rest.

I've decided to use Kingler, and set from Serebii. Idc what you say, if Serebii says it, it's the standard.

Kingler @:Leftovers
Trait: Hyper Cutter
Adamant Nature
Crabhammer
Swords Dance
Rock Slide
X-Scissor. Best set, IMO.

It has 75 base speed...higher than breloom's. You might have a good shot at using a scarf set...it would gain lots of speed.

Leftovers/Life Orb/Expert Belt were the three choices. And the EV Spread was 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Speed. No need to give it speed..

you relaize it has potential to be fast? It really would be faster than the likes of Electivire, Mence, and Garchomp...woah. Serebii isn't always right...I've seen some awful sets there before...

Yeah, use a bit of originality of your own instead 'OMGzors Serebii must be right cos everyone uses it'. I never realised Kingler was that fast, could be definitely worth a CScarf with that base Attack.

Garchomp has 100 base speed...if you gave it jolly (Kingler I mean), you'd outspeed it. Adamant is better, but I see adamant on the dragons a lot more than jolly.
