In Pokemon Fire Red growlithe doesn't learn flamethrower (probably the most useful fire attack in this game) until level 49. Would it be more worthwhile to keep it as a growlithe until level 49 or evolve it after level 31 when it learns flamewheel and then teach it Fire Blast as well when it's an arcainine. This way I could also have extremespeed and it would have the 18 levels of the extra stats arcainine gains over growlithe.

Thanks

if you're doing that solely for ingame trainers, that can work.... the stat boost always get compensated, FYI, if you're trying to level him up for battling.

Yeah, I don't have plans to battle any actual people, so evolve him at 31 then?

Edit: I could buy flamethrower in the gamecorner at Celadon if I have enough money so I'll just do that.

Thanks again
