What forum software are you using? Where do you want to put the link? Different forums have different file schemes. For example, phpBB uses files named "overall_header.tpl" and "overall_footer.tpl", et cetera. If you modify one of those files, it will change the appearance of the entire forum.

You want to link a image?

<a href="link"><img src="image url"></a>
For instance, if I wanted to link to google with their banner...
<a href="http://www.google.com"><img src="http://www.google.com/images/logo.gif"></a>
That would show up as:
facebook \\ twitter \\ blog a.k.a life // tumblr // google+

june 10, 2003 = registered at old pc
march 24, 2004 = registered at new pc
june, 2004 = modded ;;; august, 2004 = quit/fired (point of debate)
december, 2004 = banned ;;; december 2, 2005 = unbanned
june 10, 2008 = omg... five years!
june 10, 2012 = countdown to nine years on pc...

*pokes slightly* You could have asked me... now, what do you mean? Do you mean you want to add it as the top banner, or that you want it to link to the forum? And where do you want to put it, in your sig or on the forum or something? What kind of forum is yours? (Invisionfree?)

I beleive with yabb they have a box for header then you can put

<a href="http://mainurlforyourforum.com"> <img src="myheader.gif" alt="WELCOME TO MY FORUMMMMMM!!" border="0"></a>
Also besure to add the border tag so you dont have some ugly border... borders only good if you have fancy css which yabb dosent support very easily, and proboards definatly wont O___O;
