I need help/ideas on the moveset for my aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl
Adamant
Pressure
252 ATK 252 SPD
Crunch
Ice Fang
Stone Edge
Fly

tell me if those EVS sound good too please?

and if Fly is good then should I give it to Aerodactyl now (level 1 not EV trained)?

Fly sucks, they could just switch into something that resists it, and then take you down

[email protected] Band
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Crunch/Thunderfang

or if you were planning on using him as a lead

[email protected] Sash
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Spd, 252 Atk, 6 HP
-Stealth Rock
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang/Crunch/Thunder Fang

Yeah pretty much the same thing, except it has stealth rock, and a focus sash

How many people actually post IVs when they post their team, sure they could but no one does, so does it really matter

Well Stone Edge and Earthquake cover most things, so there really isn't much left for a Flying move to hit anyway (Heracross maybe, but there are better Hera counters than Aerodactyl)

I dont remember asking you to post the IV's so why do you care ? I asked because i just did an IV battle with him/her and i wanted to know its IV's.

You do a level 100 battle, write down its stats Hp/atk/speed ect all of them, then go here

marriland.com and click on the iv calculator

Find your pokemon in the list pick level 100 and the nature, then click on use ev's for calculating then check the box for input stats. Put the stats that you wrote down in there then click on calculate. This is assuming you have no EV's in the stats then you will see an accurate IV count

Go with Angelic Diablo's set, use the one with Focus Sash for the lead, and the other for late-game sweeping bud

Individual Values, read the compiled guide, Individual Values are automatic on a Pokemon in each stats, they range from 0-31, 31 being the highest, 0 being the lowest

Ive posted this before on another thread but what ever lol

Anyways on Aerodactyl you have to much speed. It doesnt need 252 evs in speed.

[email protected] Band / Focus Sash
252 ATT / 216 SPEED / 42 DEF or Sp.def
Jolly Nature
Trait : Pressure
- Ice Fang / Ice Fang / Thunderfang / Pursuit / Crunch / Aerial Ace
- Fire Fang / Fire Fang / Thunderfang / Pursuit / Crunch / Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

This reaches 385 speed which is enough to outspeed all of the metagame apart from Jolteon and Electrode and NoobJask, you wont outspeed Jask or Electrode EVER and Jolt will try and set a sub up expecting a switch and if it attacks you, you will laugh at it with Focus Sash and Earthquake anyways. Max speed is pointless due to speed ties with Jolteon and therefore unreliable to max it out just to SOMETIMES outspeed one pokemon, Jolteon =/ when you can last longer with a few evs invested into def or sp.def . It works equally as effective as a lead w/Focus Sash or a Revenge killer/Late game sweeper w/Choice Band.

Also trait is pressure, its the only trait that actually sort of does something apart from preventing recoil of Double Edge, which is pointless when youll do more with a STAB'D Stone Edge and other Super Effective moves which actully cover its weaknesses =/

EDIT: Stealth Rock fails on it due because if it gets Rapid Spinned away, then your going to have to switch this in and out continuously which Aero doesnt like at all, give Stealth Rock to something that will last longer.

No... that's just a silly theory to those that don't equip their teams with Ghost-types with Focus Sash(Like Gengar) to EASILY block the Rapid Spin. Once you layed out the traps, the opponent shouldn't even be able to Rapid Spin. Even if they do Rapid Spin, they take up a turn, therefore, the Pokemon you currently have out is able to swap into a Ghost to obliterate

And if the Ghost dies to a prediction with something that can pack Psychic and Rapid Spin like Claydol or Starmie ?? I was saying if you need to Stealth Rock AGAIN for what ever reason there are better pokemon for the job who can actually take hits much better and can actually switch in, Donphan, Claydol etc.

True, although Spiritomb is one of the few pokemon i despise just because it has a tendency to not die and the only pokemon to fully put it out of commission is Gyarados or Tyranitar etc. with Taunt.

Its just my opinion, that SR wastes a moveslot when it has alot of weaknesses to overcome and counters, to well counter with its moveset. Its like putting SR on Blissey, it has better things to do and more things to worry about.
