hi does anyone know how to move buildings around. and how to make new buildings, then do the inside that building. and anyone have the text and mart tool

Advance map to edit building, this tool can be found at: http://wahackpokemon.com/es/descarga/herramientas-gba the second download on the list (after elitmap)

Text tool
Advance text and XSE can be found at:

Advance text is for begginer text hackers.

XSE is for moderate or advanceed text/script hackers.

I don't really know if this counts as MAP help, but...

Ok, I just finished swapping Red with Gold using Overworld Editor Rebirth and edited some intro text, so my objective was complete, playing as Gold, right? WRONG! Now, when I walk outside into Pallet town, the bottom of my VBA screen blinks red and the ENTIRE screen goes red. Why is this happenning? Please help.

Sounds like there is a glitch in your ROM file from editing the text, you'll probably need a new one.

Got a problem. I want to have the Trainer Tower in Pallet Town (FireRed). But the tiles are exclusive to Trainer Tower Map. How can I import those tiles into Pallet Town?

So, I'm starting a hack using a rom base from http://www.thepokemonboard.com/showthread.php?t=1302, and I'm having a few issues.



Here, there is a grass tile that goes over the character, and I was wondering how to fix this. Also, the border looks pretty bad, and I was wondering if there was an easy way to fix this.



The building goes over the character here, so its pretty much the same as my previous issue.



Here, only a section of the grass goes over the character.


My biggest problem, however, is that I can't enter doors. I have marked their movement permission as 1, and I have the behavior and background bytes at 69 00 and 00 20 respectively. I'm pretty sure I constructed the warp right, too, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Open up the block editor in Advance Map, find the tile and change it so it reads: 00 00, 00 20. This will change the tile so that it is covered by the hero.

The border issue is a result of you mapping. if you look down the left side of your map and across the top, you can see that the border is made up of a series of endlessly repeating trees. You have to conform to the border's construction, this will mean moving the large trees at the top of your map to the left/ right one space, while doing the same to the large trees on the left running down, except moving them one space up/ down.
The little trees won't blend with the large border trees, so it would be best to either remove them or use a tile within the map that shows the little trees going over the base of the large trees.

Remember that you must build your map in line with the the border in mind to ensure that you don't run into any problems like this.

Same thing as above, but rather than altering the tile you are standing on, do it to the lab tile that is covering your head.

Open the tile in the block editor, and you should see two squares underneath the heading 'Down/ Up'. The left side should have the regular grass tile, while the right will have the top half of the grass tile, along with a part of the lab on the bottom. The part which is causing the line is the top half of the grass tile on the right side of the block editor. Change it to the transparent block, which should be tile 00 in the large box below which contains all of the tiles.

Those are the correct settings for the doors to work, so either you've positioned the warps incorrectly or the doors haven't been constructed properly.

Okay so I didnt qite know if I was to post this problem on this thread or the script thread since I think its kind of a little of both..

So I am using advanced map 1.92 and I am trying to make a warp from viridian forest to a cave wich I have made.. so I am typing in the event number I am going to warp to, the map bank, and the map no. I also do the same on the other warp inside the cave.. I save the game, test it on a GBA emulator but when I am trying to go into the cave the screen is either turning black or giving me the error (unfortunatley I didnt write down the error, abd it seems that it never occurs annymore, although I cant get into the cave) and then turning black..

btw.. I manage to warp to other places, but the error seems to occur only into this cave that I have made for myself..

what have I done wrong and how can I fix this? please :)

So, my grass tiles look fine on Advance Map, but they look bad in the game (shown in the spoiler). I don't know if this is an animation problem or what, but if somebody could tell me how to remedy this, that would be great.

I'm using Advance Map, and I was wondering if there's a quicker way to put in large objects such as trees or houses. I'm trying to redo Viridian Forest, and so far, it's taking forever. Is there a faster way to put in those big trees?

Because each map is constructed this way: byte 1 matches for the first block in upper left corner, byte 2 for the block next to it (upper left corner + 1 to the right) etc. till the end of the upper line and 2nd line begins after the block in upper right corner, it's practically impossible to make an editor which could support adding more than 1 block at the same time.

I think he meant a quicker way to map.

Let's see, you can right-click a tile and, while holding Ctrl (or Shift, I can't remember correctly, but it's probably Ctrl), hover your mouse over more tiles. In your case, trees/houses. This creates a 'grosser block', which is many tiles selected by this utility. Here are some things to note:
  • Since you can only left-click over a single tile, the grosser block will transfer all tiles starting on the tep left tile of it. For example, if it's a tree that has 4 tile blocks, when you select a place for it, the one tile you selected will take the top left tile of the grosser block, and the rest of the tiles will follow accordingly.
  • Making grosser blocks with tiles already existing on a map-and not out of tiles from the tileset on the right-also transfers their movement permissions. For example, if you copy a Pokemon Center from Viridian and place it on another map, it will have the exact C/1 permissions that the original one has. If you copy an existing patch of normal grass, it will all be C (passable).
  • Grosser blocks do not disappear if you switch between maps, but they disappear if you right-click a new tile or grosser block.
  • Something concerning your map easthetics: Careful which trees you copy, because it is a common mistake when using grosser blocks, that the trees have incorrect shading, and that's because you copied the wrong tree from the tileset.

So I'm making a map, with new tiles and this happens.

Lots of tile errors, and I can't fix them. They're just outside the editing range in Advance Map. I've tired everything I know but its to no avail. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this.

Also, if anyone was wondering(or if it could be part of the porblem)the tiles are Zel's Shiny Gold tiles. This might sound like a "noobish" thing to ask for help on, and well, I think it is too. Lol. I'm at my wit's end though, so help. Yeah?

That would be because you haven't put any thought into your border block. Have a look at the small 2x2 square above the blocks you constructed the map with. Change those to anything you want (although I suspect you'll be wanting trees) and the 'random' blocks will be changed to them.

I made a warp in Fire Red, but when I step on it, the screen goes black.
Can someone help me on this?

Hey guys, I was having trouble with my hack so my friend told me to ask here. Nice to meet you all!

I have a question;

I followed a tutorial on Youtube on putting custom tiles into your map, and it worked in Advance Map. So I went to try the rom, but as soon as I left the house, all the blocks I put in were neon pink. ;A;
I'd be really grateful if you could let me know what I'm doing wrong! Thank-You!

Now from personal experience when I had this happen, I just deleted the warps, then made new ones to a different place on the map. Like where it would originally warp to, I moved it over 1 to the left/right/up/down. Then it seemed to work, weird huh.

Sounds like it was the way they were inserted. I would use Cello's tutorial on Tile Insertion in the tutorials section. It seems to be the best, or at least for me anyways.

Thank-You for the advice, I followed a different tutorial.. But now A-Map won't let me select the tiles properly.. When I select a tile to replace, A-Map replaces a completely different tile which I don't want to erase. Is this a glitch or something?
I select a free black tile, and A-Map replaces a tile way above it. ;3;

Yeah that happens to me sometimes to, you just have to try to select a different black area, try till you get results, good luck.
