So, I finally decided to post a fic at PC. I got the idea thinking of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 and my PMD rescue team in the first versions. And so bloomed a one-shot about Team Gold Types combating the darkness. And hopefully, that bud will fully bloom into a flower of fanfic..... something. Yeah, I'm bad at making analogies or whatever I just tried to do. So let me just start before I end up making an idiot out of myself xD
Darkness Can't Blind Friendship
Everywhere I looked, I saw black. Darkness surrounded us in every direction. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of death, and I'm sure my teammates did too. But our mission was to overcome all difficulties. Our enemy was hidden in the shadows. Disguised by the shadows that were as dark as its body, and its heart. But then I look up. I saw the glowing blue eye, and the flowing white hair. It stared at me, and I at it. It looked to my left. I followed and saw the white fur of an Absol. My partner, Darky. I could tell he was about to faint. And then I saw the blue eye glow violet. A raspy voice spoke 'Hypnosis' with a smirk. Sleep. Darky fell into a sleep unbelievably deep. Another chuckle came.
"Bad dreams, nighmares, and pain. This is what fate has dealt to you."
Red. Red glew the eye that screamed death. Red sparks surrounding my friend.
"Fear. Is that what you feel when you look at me? Because if you are afraid, then I must be doing my job right. Heh. Now fall into the Nightmare!"
Now a black glow. Black sparks. Every glow followed something bad. I couldn't bear it. I could barely stand on my four feet and yet I still stood straight up. Paralyzed in fear. Darky fell faint. That changed everything. I no longer felt fear, but rage. A flaring rage. My body became so hot, I swore I had switched bodies with the Pokemon next to me. I looked at him, a Cyndaquil. He was hurt far worse than me, bruises and cuts all over his body. I saw him release a breath of flames. Five small flares formed a circle. He had to be desperate if he had used Fire Blast. I complimented the flames with a burst of watet from my small mouth. I nearly fell under the power of my own Hydro Pump. The dark figure spoke again.
"You think you can actually defeat me? Ha! If you are that foolish, then you shall die. Die under the intense power of the Dark Void!"
A violet-black glow came. We stared into the opening vortex. We knew it would cause sleep and from there, hope would be lost. My eyes felt heavy.
"AquaMaster, you can't fall asleep! Not after how much you've fought so far! Wake up! I can't bear the thought of losing you! Not after all we've been through! Come on! Wake up! Wake up! Wake UP!"
The voice was faint. I was nearly asleep but I recognised the voice of FireMaster. That Cyndaquil, my best friend. I couldn't let him down. I couldn't let any of them down. The Kecleon brothers, Aunt Khangaskhan, Persian, and Wigglytuff. Everyone in town. And I especially couldn't let down her.Death didn't matter to me. I had to come through this for her. She was counting on me. That Gardevoir, who helped me to get where I am today. I would die here If I knew it meant keeping her safe. So I stood. I fought sleep and fought on. I knew that if we worked together, we'd win. That's the one thing that Darkrai didn't have. Friendship and teamwork. Not even this darkness could blind that. Those were the things that helped us save this world from destruction, and it'll get us through this. I ran towards it. Ran towards the wayward shadow. And FireMaster followed. Darkrai charged ay us. I took a deep breath and blew. Cold air came. A roaring Blizzard attack. And FireMaster blew another Fire Blast. An impact. And then a voice.
"Grrrrr. What is this? This power that eminates from you? What is it?"
"The power of teamwork. And friendship."
I finally spoke. After about two hours of silence, I spoke. And then the shadow breathed its last breath. Together, we blasted our most powerful attacks. Hydro Cannon and Blast Burn. We finally did it. After two grueling hours of pain, agony, and nightmares, we did it. Just like every other challenge, the power of friendship and teamwork led us to victory. WE had done it again. We walked back to the rescue team base with bruises and cuts. As cheery as ever, my friend spoke.
"We did good for just a weak little Cyndaquil and Mudkip, huh?"
"....Yeah. We did."
