Introduction:
This is my clan, The 1337 Brigade
Like any other clan, the purpose of this is to have a group of battlers to...well...battle each other lol. This one is different, however, in the sense that it is over Shoddy Battle rather than WiFi. There are few rules and they are simple, however you must follow them or you'll be blacklisted. >:0 This is dedicated to battling in the OU Metagame though, so those who don't battle there often of hate the OU probably should think twice before joining.
This is really more for experienced battlers than rookies or newbies, but we're willing to help inexperienced players become the best they can be! It isn't amazingly difficult to make the clan, as the tryout isn't too tough. If you don't make it, don't be discouraged! Continue to research the metagame (see the resources section below) and become a better player. You can try out as many times as you need to to make it. Also, the main server used will be the Official Server. You can use others, just be sure you mention that.
There are several things to do in The 1337 Brigade! You can seek advice from members, ask questions, and of course, battle, if you join our clan! There are many sections of this opening page that are important for you to read, so I'll end this intro and get to the table of Contents.

Current Clan News:
Congratulations to Syaoran for winning our tournament!
I apologize for pretty much ignoring this thread, but I've been busy with a lot and when I'm on here I usually forget about this or nobody has posted anything new. Due to my inactivity and the fact that I probably won't be getting any more active, I plan on turning the Brigade over to somebody else. Don't petition for becoming the new leader, or you will NOT be it, no exceptions. I'm currently working on it, so be patient.
Also, I've noticed total inactivity with most of our members. Please do make some effort to be at least somewhat active or I'll probably cut you from the list (not saying you're "banned" or anything, just so that active members aren't barking up the wrong tree when it comes to battling others). I'll update the list soon BTW. sorry for the inactivity.

Rules:
1. You have to follow all clauses (they're listed below) that we play by here.
-Evasion Clause- Evasion Moves like Double Team are banned.
-Sleep Clause- Only one pokemon can be asleep at a time. (Rest does NOT count towards this total.)
-OHKO Clause- OHKO Moves like Sheer Cold are banned.
-Hax Item Clause- Hax Items like Quick Claw and Brightpowder are banned.
-Species Clause- You can only use a pokemon once on one team. (This prevents teams of only FEAR and things of that nature to be avoided.)
-No Ubers- You cannot use Ubers in any OU Battle. Ubers include: Lugia, Ho-oh, Palkia, Diagla, Mewtwo, Mew, Deoxys-A, Deoxys-D, Deoxys, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Latios, Latias, Manaphy, Giratina, Darkrai, Wobbuffet, and Arceus.
2. Don't SPAM. This should be incredibly obvious, but is here anyways. SPAMing will not be tolerated. If you want to have an off-topic discussion, take it to PM. I'm all for somewhat random discussion, just be sure it has SOMETHING to do with battling or whatever the topic may be.
3. Don't run from battles. This is pretty simple. You can run to avoid a long stall war in which it is obvious who will win as long as BOTH battlers agree that a certain battler can run. Otherwise, finish the battle.
4. Disputes are to be settled OVER PM if they cannot be resolved right away. If you have a problem of some sort in a battle, you can bring it up here and try to resolve it, as many of these things are mere misunderstandings. However, if the problem erupts like they sometimes can, take it to PM and don't SPAM the thread up.
5. If you have a problem with a certain rule or requirement of some sort, post it or PM it to me in an intelligent manner. Any rude, flame complaints you send will be ignored, and won't exactly leave a good impression either.
6. You can battle anybody here of any rank and are not limited to battling people only of certain ranks.
7. You CAN have battles that don't go by the clauses above, but they will NOT count for anything, including bragging rights.
8. You can have battles that don't have any effect on your ranking if you wish. Just be sure that is determined before battling and both players agree. These are usually to try out test teams and all of that, just to have a casual battle, or even just as a joke by battling with your brigade of CB Blissey.
9. This clan is for OU battles specifically, so only those will alter your rank in any way. You can still have UU, NU, and Uber battles if you wish though.
10. You have to stay active here (1 battle a week minimum). There are exceptions, as long as you notify us first. Things like vacations, tough times, or temporary breaks from PC are examples of what exempts you from this rule.

Blacklist:
For numerous offenses, the Blacklist will become your home. Here, you're banned from participating in clan activities for a certain amount of time. Usually it'll be a week or so, but you could find your self blacklisted permanantly if you continue your bad behavior of whatever kind. Here is the current BLACKLIST:

Joining:
You'll battle me for your rank (see below) and you're in! However, if you can't behave yourself, you'll quickly find yourself blacklisted. If you perform very poorly in your qualifying match, I might ask you to go and gain more experience and skill, and come back later to try out. It's nothing personal, but this clan is more for players who know at least a little about what they're doing when battling. As long as you do okay though, you'll probably make it.
You do have to have an OU team to be accepted, since that's the main tier we're playing in here. It can have UUs, I don't care, just be ready for OU battles.

Ranking System:
Ranking is pretty simple here. I'm the Leader, being the founder of this clan. After that, there are 5 ranks, each named after tiers. They're just names though - Just because you're in Rank UU doesn't mean you can't have an OU battle with a member. Here they are:
Rank NU: Here are battlers that still lack experience or skill, but that doesn't mean we all can't improve!
Rank UU: Rank UU isn't the best, and players here still need to learn a few things.
Rank BL: Rank BL is the middle tier here. People here have proven to be good battlers, but still might have a few things to learn to beat better players.
Rank OU: The better battlers of this clan will be found in this rank. These players rarely make rookie mistakes and are solid battlers.
Rank Uber: The best battlers of this clan will be in the highest rank, Rank Uber. These battlers are the cream of the crop here at PC, and can beat most anybody here.
Assistant Leader: A battler with a high rank that helps me run this clan. I'll have up to 3 at a time.
Leader: The person who started this clan, which is me. This one is exclusive to me >:0
As for your starting rank, you'll battle me. I'll have a team with a few flaws and will make a few bad plays on purpose, and see if you can take advantage of the opportunity. If you don't win, you'll be a Rank 1-3. If you do, you'll be 3-5. I shouldn't be too hard, so if you expect a higher rank, you really should be able to beat me. I will also have a few Assistant Leaders to help out here, as sometimes we all have our biases. This is to keep a level playing field.
To move up ranks, you must defeat 3 players in your current rank in a row. If you really deserve to move up, this shouldn't be too challenging of a requirement. Also, if you beat 2 players of a higher rank in a row, you move up. This one might seem harder, but it might not be too challenging if you really do deserve to be in that rank. If you beat somebody 2 ranks or above higher than you, you will probably move up a rank. However, if there was a heavy amount of hax involved (as judged by the higher-ranked player), you will have to have a rematch. However, in order to be sure our higher ranked players aren't being sore losers, we'll need a battle log to overturn it. So if your Heracross gets 10 straight crits, expect to need to prove yourself again in a rematch. Hax is a part of the battle, so one or two unlucky things probably won't stop you from moving up, it would have to be something that actually helped decide who won the game to get your "promotion" overturned.
To be an Assistant Leader, you must be at Least Rank 4 and must beat me in a real battle (meaning with one of my many teams when I try to win with 100% effort). It doesn't guarantee anything, because there are several people here I know can beat me and people who have beaten me in the past.

Those should cover most of what you need to know. Smogon is really helpful with movesets and finding counters to things. The other 3 basically cover what smogon doesn't, especially full movepools and typing.
