So many of you may have already beaten D/P or even, still playing through it. So, my question to all of you is, "what are the strengths of these games?" Why should I get it? What makes it worth playing? I wanna get a copy and make my own judgements, but in the mean time, I wanna know what everyone else thinks.

Well I thing the Battle System is cool and the Wi-Fi. Now you can play with people arround the world so I guess they're both the main reasons....

Pokemon is the worst game in the world and you should never buy it.

But seriously, it depends on what you're looking for in the game. If you love the Pokemon formula, it's the best it's ever been in DP. If you love the depth to competitive battling, WiFi will keep you hooked for a long time. If Pokemon just seems 'Meh' to you, then don't bother.

Although, I don't think you really have to worry about the latter, seeing as you actually have an account at a Pokemon forum.

Honestly I think that the stuff before you beat the Elite Four was a little bit hard to stay hooked on. But after you beat them and get the National Dex it becomes a lot better. You can breed, EV Train and Battle over WiFi. Well it depends on if you like that stuff but I would recommend it!

The fact that there is still so much to do after you beat the Elite Four, just like the other Pokemon games. Go and get all the other Pokemon!

The biggest appeal for me by far was the wifi trading/battling. It's opened up a whole new meaning of competitive battling.

I have actually forgotten which City I'm in, because I never play outside the battling arena. ;)

As stated before, it has the concept of online battling but the down side of this is not all can use this, myself included

Don't listen to him -_-"

Anyways, what got me addictive to it was the wifi connection

I think Pokemon has never been about the single-player experience; there isn't much to it, it's a grinding game with minor storyline aspects. If you don't have access to WiFi or a bunch of friends with DS's (like me :D ) then I don't think you should bother.
I think battling and the community part of Pokemon is where it's fun, having to train a team and compete with other people.
That's my opinion, but I know I have weird taste in games. Well, I hate WoW for one...
