Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Modest
124 HP / 148 Defense / 16 Speed / 220 Special Attack
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power: Ice
~ Roost
~ Thunderwave

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credit to Junior from Smogon Forums, This is his Zapdos set and i'm not trying to claim I invented it or anything. Here is his explanation for the EVs and moveset.

A fantastic lead and can take hits from almost everything. Cripples those thinking they can OHKO this Zapdos and then easily roosting off their damage. Max attack (Adamant + 252 Atk EVs) Gyarados can't even OHKO this with Stone Edge. That goes same for Weavile's Ice Punch.

This set beats any other Zapdos except the uncommon Sleep Talkers.

EVs may seem a tad random but they're not.
The current speed EVs allows it to outspeed any adamant Breloom which may threaten Zapdos with Spore.
124 HP and 148 Def are for the reasons above, surviving any hit and Crippling or OHKOing anything in its way.
With some SAtk EVs, this also allows Zapdos to sweep quite well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Adamant [ + Attack - Special Attack ]
236 Attack / 252 HP / 20 Defense

~ Thunderpunch
~ Explosion
~ Earthquake
~ Meteor Mash

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An old strategy with a few new tricks. There are more options for this set now as Metagross has gained some new attacks, along with some of its older attacks becoming physically based instead of specially based. As with other sets that use Choice items, prediction is key. Meteor Mash usually does tons of damage, resisted or not. Earthquake works well on many Pokémon that resist Meteor Mash. Explosion is capable of defeating all but the toughest Pokémon in one blow; even Skarmory loses around 85% of its HP. ThunderPunch will down Pokémon like Milotic and Skarmory in two hits and will be a quick kill upon foes like Gyarados and Starmie.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Lonely [ + Attack - Defense ]
252 Attack / 240 Special Attack / 16 Speed
- Rain Dance
- Waterfall
- Hidden Power [ Grass ] / Surf / Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A strange set on the surface, but this does work. Rain Dance boosts Kingdra's speed to 420, beating out even Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. With the Speed boost and the power boost to both Water moves, Kingdra can lay down quite a hurting. Waterfall will 2HKO Blissey with Mysticwater, but Life Orb gives even more kick. Dragon Pulse is designed to handle anything that resists Water, with the exception of Empoleon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mesprit @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Calm
212 HP / 180 Def / 72 Sp. Def / 44 Sp. Atk

- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Psychic

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credit to T_S for this set.
This Mesprit is a very effective counter for both Gyarados and Garchomp as well as the versatile Infernape (to an extent). As such, carrying it on your team allows greater freedom of choice regarding the other five Pokémon slots since it covers three potent threats by itself. The defensive spread allows it to come into any of the three without much concern and force them to switch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Impish
252 Defense / 252 HP / 4 Attack

- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Donphan has a lot of useful selling points, but perhaps the most notable of these is Rapid Spin. With Stealth Rock flying around everywhere, the ability to remove the floating rocks can be a great asset to every team.

Earthquake is always a great move, especially when you have STAB and an impressive Attack stat to back it up, like Donphan. Unlike his fellow spinning Ground type, Claydol, Donphan's Earthquake packs quite a punch and can start to take its toll on sturdy Ghosts like Dusknoir and Spiritomb, who will block his spinning attempts. Ice Shard is a really awesome attack on Donphan, because not only does it bypass Donphan's rather pitiful Speed, but it hits the ever threatening Dragons incredibly hard and can also take down other speedy, weakened foes; unfortunately, its pitiful base power will let Donphan down against anything that it isn't 4x effective on.

Knock Off is just an excellent move and Donphan can make a real nuisance of himself with it, removing Leftovers from tanks like Swampert and Suicune.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Calm
252 HP / 252 Special Defense / 4 Special Attack

- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Stealth Rock

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Empoleon is a good special wall—it takes at worst 43% from a Choice Specs Salamence Fire Blast. Ice Beam will beat said Salamence, while Grass Knot is effective against fellow Water-types. Surf is STAB. Stealth Rock is a welcome addition to any team.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can that Zapdos take an Earthquake from anything common? I'm not so sure.

I love how the explanations are direct copies from Smogon.

That Zapdos is nothing revolutionary in all honesty. It's just MS Zappy but with thunder Wave instead of Metal Sound. BTW Weavile is known to carry Ice Shard.

I don't really get why you're EVing that Zapdos to take hits from gyarados who isn't going to waste its time with Zapdos unless it has Wacan Berry and Stone Edge, in which case Zapdos is doomed anyways.

Again I love the Smogon explanations.

EDIT:

Uh news flash, Zapdos is a flying type and doesnt get touched by ground...

Battling 101 :P learn it...

Easy to see you just copy'd the descriptions from smog... lol. Thats some effort there, :P

Kingdra is best with this set though in my opinion if you want him best potential in rain...

-------------------------------------
Kingdra @ Life orb / Lum berry
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Rash
evs: 160 attack / 96 speed / 252 SpA
~ Surf
~ Waterfall
~ Rain Dance
~ Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse

Could do much better in the rain, expect blissey, hit with waterfall, bam job doe...

Draco meteor really is the oomph, and is what I think would be better over pulse, Lum berry is you dont want crippling and unexpected Thunder waves, I dont know give this set a try and see ho it works for ya, it works for me.

Nature: Impish
252 Defense / 252 HP / 4 Attack

- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off

- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Stealth Rock

Just a sidenote: I'm really hating you atm

also, Heracross uses SD! game over

Tyranitar uses DD! game over

Garchomp uses SD! game over

yet another reason why you should run Bold on Pixie

lol

But seriously now that the aftershock of reading the Smogon stuff is gone I can list your weaknesses.

First of all Gallade murders you. It just brutalizes your team and you can't do anything back to it. you can't even revenge kill it >.>

This team also gets murdered b7y Heatran and Choice Band Metagross. Zapdos can somewhat beat Metagross, but it can only take a few boosted hits before falling and we all know how much Metagross' Meteor Mash loves to increase its attack. Especially if it has Pursuit its just gg for Mesprit and Gyara will come and kill your team.

Also two Thunder Wavers is not smart.

As for Heatran if you see that it's gg.

Also Mixpert really screws your team up. It kind of crushes everything you have, and it isn't even meant to attack.

If gengar or alakazam shows up then it's more gg since Empoleon will fold to Focus Blast.

Also if Porygon-Z shows up with Nasty Plot and Tbolt or HP Fighting it's gg.

For all that "wisdom" from Smogon this team has an awful lot of weaknesses.

~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power: Ice
~ Roost
~ Thunder Wave

After a Thunder Wave, Zapdos will be moving first, and Roost will take the Ground immunity off.

Don't take me for some idiot who doesn't know what the heck Roost does.

I don't see how that's relevant. O____o; No one will switch an Earthquake user in on Zapdos as it won't hit it 90% of the time (unless they predict carefully and hit on the switch - which takes a lot of prediction and/or luck).

I'd rather be prepared for everything I possibly can be than lose to prediction.

In all honesty, though, I can't say this team is very strong. As much as I love bacon, I'm afraid that Chompah :x has burnt it.

I'll attempt to help so that I'm not spamming... Maybe Hidden Power (Ice) on Metagross over Explosion, to help against Ground users?

*points at choice band* Explosion is the BOOM, how could you replace it witha weak HP on a bander ...

And you cant worry about roosts landing so much, most Earthquake users dont want HP:ice, so they wont be coming around anyways...If you worry about that aspect so much, your worrying about what letters are in the name... to be honest, ive never even thought about landing with roost, never will :\

I think you should pour some more Special Attack evs in empoleon... Those moves need a purpose xD

Also, Donphan can learn both rapid spin and Knock off legally, hmmm never knew.

And just for you to know, no one in their right mind keeps a Specsmence in against Empoleon.

Anyone else see a huge Electivire (amongst the others Anti mentioned) weakness

Meh, vire is handled fairly well but not great.

BTW EVing Zapdos to take Earthquake because of Roost is just stupid.

Saying this team is good is ignoring all the weaks it had.

Basically 6 sets from Smogon that don't gel together.

Also Quakeslide is a death sentence here. Something like DDtar (as flamehaze mentioned) will be merciless.

I mean seriously too many weaknesses. BTW Raikou sets up bilndly on any of your pokemon including empoleon and sweeps tyour entire team pretty easily. Metagross will take a bunch from STAB Thunderbolt as well.

Moltres is just...more doom. Emploeon cannot take on that thing (or switch into it at least).

Also it's a coincidence that you're very Zapdos weak, especially MS Zapdos.

Also Cress can stall most of this team out pretty easily and boost its SAtk with chrage Beam and ram through your team.

Also SDchomp is just the end. Scarfchomp easily shrugs off Ice Shard and Kills Donphan.

In other words this team has a lot of weaknesses, perhaps beyond repair. WAY too sweeper-oriented to where even with two walls you can't really wall anything besides standard SpecsMence.

BTW Clam Mind Suicune is a ton of trouble, especially the ones with HP electric.
