I know like half of PC absolutely dispises the genre(s), but I really like it. If you like it too, please say which artists are you're favorite. If you don't please don't rant about how it's damaging our youth or any of that nonsense.

CRANK DAT SOULJA BOIIIIEEE SON.

Anyway, I don't listen to it much. Generally, I find it dull- basically, four notes are played throughout the entire song (Fergie's "Clumsy" and CRANK DAT SOULJA BOI are good examples of the stuff that make me want to tear my ears off) while some random guy from DA GETTO talks. There's no variation in the voice- it's really just talking.

I prefer some rock or metal- a sick guitar riff or solo is always more exciting than some computerized 'beat'. And hey, I don't dance anyway.

Yeah, you just said "gg rap"

And it really is dull and meaningless. The song is...just about nothing. when it is about something it usually isn't something kids should be listening to...and if it is it's usually the rapper obsessing over how expensive his car is.

I mean some forms of Hip-hop I actually do not mind and some of these don't fit the stereotype. The sad thing is that a lot of rap does fit the stereotype and is totally worthless.

So no, I never have and I never will until they actually put some meaning into the freaking songs.
Why are the beautiful sick and divided like myself?

Smooth Jazz, R&B, and anything with a coherent musical beat is what does it for me. That dang Gorrila music annoys me. I like the beat of rap, but I can feel my mind slipping after each listen.

I really enjoy jingles I hear, off of video games, Simpson/Family Guy/American Dad/etc, and other things like that.

The problem is what you see on T.V. and hear on the radio is "gangsta rap" (yes, this is the actual name). There are a lot of artist out there that just rap about everyday life and not how they shot up some guy. Also, for most raps, its the beat that makes the song and not the lyrics.

Which is how it should be. Unfortunately, I haven't heard any rap songs with 'beats' that can actually keep me interested. Honestly, the only rap I could really listen to is stuff like this or this.

I listen to rap and I'm not ashamed one bit.

My favourite genre is metal, but it ticks me off that some people think that they *MUST* hate on rap because they're into rock and stuff. Going "oMfG i LyK gUnS n RoSeS sO i MuSt HaTe NwA lUlZ" isn't cool. There's some good rap out there, but people get turned off immediately because of idiots like Soulja Boy and 50 Cent.

I listen to NWA, Eminem, 2Pac and the like. I also listen to *some* rap-metal such as Rage Against the Machine and Anthrax.

Lesson: don't hate on rap just because you feel you must hate on it if you're into rock. There are some people in this world that like rap too, they don't need you hating on their music (because let's face it, very very few people hate on rock. xD).

Meh, I like neither.

My reasons for not liking rap (especially hip-hop) is strictly because of all the negative "songs" that are alawys played. Yeah yeah, there are good ones, but these negatives can really sully them.

It's pretty good but I don't listen to it much.

I don't mind rap/hip hop. In fact, I can listen to just about every genre of music except for country and heavy metal. Country music is just asking for a snooze fest and heavy metal isn't all that appealing to me. The profanity and nonsense in rap songs doesn't bother me, as I rarely pay special attention to the lyrics and never take them seriously anyway.

I'm not a big fan of 50 cent or Soulja Boy. Their raps have absolutely no meaning. The only "hardcore" rapper I listen to is Lil' Wayne because the words he uses are just incredible. He may be rapping about nonsense, but he does it with some flare.

I listen to hip-hop from the 90's. Tone Loc, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Boys 2 Men...all the early ones most of you whippersnappers probably never heard of. xP

As for rap, the only song from that genre I can stand is the great mix of rock/rap "Walk This Way" by Run D.M.C. and Aerosmith.
