I was curious to see which one of the two is more popular with the people of the PokèCommunity.

Personally, I prefer dogs more. I think they make an overall more friendly companion, and they seem to be more playful than cats...

Vote and post.
'It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.'

Oh man, this has to be the hardest question ever... XD

I love puppies to death, but something about fluffy little kittens just gets to me. They're so tiny and sweet. I'd be the happiest person on earth if I got to carry one around all day and cuddle with it. They're also much easier to, you know, potty train... which is a major bonus in my book, since I have a full-grown dachshund that STILL uses it on the floor sometimes. It drives me craaazy.

That said, cats do get pretty boring as they grow older, so that's when dogs make better pets. You can always count on them to be excited every time you get home, and they're also fun to take along for walks. Depending on the breed, they can also bite the butts off of robbers or anyone else who tries to mess with you. :D So heck yeah to that!

For me, it's dogs. As much as I like cats, they just don't have that little spark that dogs have that make them so much better.

Dogs are friendly and playful, and they can stay that playful for a long time. Cats, on the other hand, aren't as playful, and tend to be more independent, which, to me, isn't as fun. Plus, you can't really walk a cat. D: Walking's always nice (It gives me an excuse to exercise. -shot). It's also a nice feeling to come home and your dog is happy to see you.

I don't have either pet, but I'd rather get a dog for those reasons. Additionally, I'm allergic to cats, so... as cute as cats are, I could never get one anyway. :x

I'm more of a Cat person myself. They are uber cute as kittens and then are the perfect relaxing companion as they grow older. now don't get me wrong Dogs are cool too, but I just prefer Cats.

For everyone that said dogs, you're wrong, and you fail at the board game of Life.

Cats are better.

PFFFBT Dogs.

I don't dislike cats, I just don't wanna pay 300 bucks for something that's gonna hide under my couch all day >_>
I LOVE kittens though.
Wrong, there are things called outdoor cats. Cats aren't ment to be fat creatures laying on a couch 24/7/52...

Dogs... TOTALLY.

My dog gets really excitable and playful, then tears up his bed, but I normally cause that, while cats just... run away and we slingshot rocks at them.

PLUS, dogs are seriously adorable and faithful and loyal and cute and determined and I can't think of any more describing words. OH YES, AND I COMPLETELY LOVE DOG PAWS. I have no clue why, but dog paws are seriously awesome <3

AND THEIR MOUTH. Dogs have an awesome mouth. AND THEIR EARS... so soft and...
Yeah, everything about dogs is awesome. 8D While cats can kill birds. My birds. My just-as-awesome-as-my-dog-birds.

I have a cat and a dog. Cat's name is Vodka and dog's name is Martini. (laugh) Now, Vodka fat and quite unsocial when there are guests around. Totally the opposite with Martini, she jumps up and down and goes mad whenever there are new people in the room, but, and this is a very big but, she's unbelievably stupid. She's almost six months old and STILL does her business wherever she wants to. And guess who has to clean that up. >_<

So cats ftw. The fact that they need virtually no potty training wins. <33

I like cats, and I own one named Jess.

When I was young, our family owned a cat called Harley. But when my brother was just a baby, it went down the drain... A couple of years later, we got a cat called Smokie, at 5 months, it got hit by a car... A few days later, we got Jess!

I really can't decide. All my life, I've been around both, and I currently have a cat on my bed and a dog on my floor.

See, I can't go with the whole thing that "cats are independent" because mine isn't at all. She's crying right now for attention, and the instant I call her over, she's on my lap purring. She's also there to greet me when I come home from anywhere, and she follows me around the house.

It's the same with my dog. So I go around the house with two little white critters following me.

While cats can kill birds.
My dog killed a bird. Jumped right up and snapped its neck. My other dog almost killed a squirrel as well.

I just don't wanna pay 300 bucks for something that's gonna hide under my couch all day
Depends how much attention you give them. I carried my cat around everywhere when she was a kitten, and she doesn't hide under the couch at all. She's always in someone's face, wanting attention. And she's not fat at all.

I also have a pet baby wolf..
Agreeing with Espreon. Are you being serious? Or are you taking care of it until it can go back into the wild? Because if you just took a creature out of the wild and you don't have an idea what you're getting into... I have a coyote/sled dog mix, and she's a wild dog.

You know, after all this, I've decided: Hamsters are the perfect pet. Mine gives me the most love and entertainment in the short few months she's been here, more than any of my other pets combined. *lurves her grumpy hamster very much*

Does anyone else wonder why there isn't a poll? It makes sense.
