Anyone looking forward to these two games.

Some Info about them.

Sonic Chronicles (DS)

Information:
Sonic Chronicles is a turn based RPG, where you go mainly to dungeons and complete missions. Sonic has never attempted a turn based RPG before and so far it is looking decent. 8 characters will be playable but only four at a time. Characters will include Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge and Big the cat.

Storyline:
Spoiler:
Not much of the storyline has been announced. Although the earliest mission to complete is saving Knuckles who has been captured.

Screens:

Sonic Unleashed (Wii, X360, PS3, PS2)

Information:
This is a mainly 2.5D game for wii, sometimes 3D though. Many oldschool Sonic fans may feel at home with this game and it is looking awfully promising.

Storyline: Dr.Eggman is at it again and meets Sonic, who quickly reverts to Super Sonic but Eggman takes the super out of him and now has the power of the seven chaos emeralds which he starts using to break up the Earth. Sonic now has a werehog form inside him.

Im looking forward to both a lot; its hopefully sonics comeback.

Sonic chronicals looks good, and even though i dont have a ds would love to play it. Im just confused about how well its gonna come out....it does seem like a good idea for a game, but gameplay wise im sure it'll be good.

Sonic unleashed looks like a mix between sonic rush and sonic and the secret ring from looking at gameplay videos. Which i hope is a good idea; i mean it looks good. I just hope they make the side scrolling factor a bit more puzzle-y than they did with sonic rush- which was the epitome of 'hold down th right button' with most levels. And the wolf thing is completely confusing, i dont even know where that plans on going.

Sonic Chronicles sounds interesting. Two parallel worlds, 8 characters, and a turn-based battle system (don't know how the latter's gonna work out).

I'm thoroughly frightened at Sonic Unleashed though. I can't imagine having Were-Sonic. It sounds like something out of Zelda, but I can't think of which game.

Chronciles looks awesome, as it is made by Bioware, who made Knights of the Old Republic and Mass effect. Unleashed looks cool too, and I imagine the 'Werehog' form will be like the corrrupted form in Metroid Prime 3, or the Gregar form in Megaman Battle Network 6.

Ben: Oh, you guys. Stop calling them. You can call me all you want.

Laura: Okay...

Eric: Oh, oh, okay.

Ben: Just don't make it between the times of midnight and 6:00 AM because I am sleeping.

[Andrew laughs]

Ben: And if my speakers go off...

Andrew: [Laughs] No you're not.

Ben: Yeah, well, sometimes I am. Occasionally.

Eric: And people of the world, don't call him on Skype, Sundays between like 3:00 and 8:00 PM because that's when he edits the show.

Andrew: When he does, yeah.

Ben: If you call me...okay...you think a dementor is bad? You think Lord Voldemort is bad? [In deep voice] You haven't felt the wrath of Ben Schoen.

But you gotta admit, it is VERY easy to screw that up.

Forgive my pessimistic views, but they are here for good reason, as we all know, Sonic games suck, at least these recent ones.

Not all suck but the majority of recent ones do.

Its time for a turn around.

Looking at both so far, one of them must be a success at least.

one of them better succeed. Sonics been really disappointing ever since sonic heroes.
I have to admit though, i kinda liked shadow the hedgehog. i think they went in the wrong direction with it with the whole guns and storyboard, but if you think about it, everything else about it was a very good game. good running speed, 1 person, and lots of missions. what a sonic game should be.

Agreed. I haven't been satisfied with a Sonic game ever since SA2:B was released. The worst one in recent times I would have to say was Shadow the Hedgehog, so I'm keeping my hopes up for these upcoming games, specifically Sonic Chronicles. I'm already content just knowing it's an RPG.

Well I like the sound of Sonic Chronicles. I think its sort of hard to make a bad RPG if you're trying to make a good. Of course there are boring RPG's and stuff, but Sonic Chronicles I think will be fine, and I'll probably be picking it up.

Sonic Unleashed though I'm not too sure of. Now the whole title "Unleashed" and the fact Sonic gets some crazy beast form when he fills up a gauge doesn't sound good. This reminds me of what other dieing platform series do. They have an Ok series, but then it starts to die a it. They think "We'll add something in, to re attract people tot he series." They then make a system in it where if the main character collects enough ____ they can push a button and the character will transform into some crazy chaotic monster with more strength and speed, but only for a limited amount of time. Now of course we don't know for sure this is what is happening in Sonic Unleashed, but I think its a safe bet.

Now thats just silly worriedness though. I'm not the biggest fan of 2D sonics, I actually prefer Adventure 1 and 2, but I don't hate the 2d. I do have to say though I hope the whole running thing is more like the originals. With Sonic Advance and Rush series, I didn't quite like it. Sonic is about crazy fast speed, but because those games made it so you had to accelerate and stuff, I didn't really like them.

Well I still have hope though, Secret Rings I have to say was good, so I know Sega still has what it takes to make a good Sonic game.

They both look great. Being a huge Sonic fan, I'll probably get Unleashed for PS3 and Chronicles for DS.

Sonic Chronicles sounds good, since it's the first Sonic RPG on the DS.

Sonic Unleashed sounds good, too, though I think the Werehog (sounds like a man-boar, LOL) will both remove and add Sonic fans...
