it's supposed to mean:
dark destruction wave
You seem to be the only person to have come up with that translation, so I doubt it means anything. I know that yami is the Japanese word for darkness, though, so that much is correct.

The Japanese language does not have a plural distinction, so you can't make it say claws.
The word for thunder appears to be
kaminari. To my knowledge, written perfectly it'd be 雷の爪, kaminari no tsume, literally "claw of thunder".
