Before I start let me preface this by saying that I am an oldtimer from RBY and I just got DP yesterday. I'm still learning the pokemon afer mew(lol). I have only two badges and I do not have ANY of these pokemon yet. My point is....I AM TRYING REALLY HARD TO FIGURE THIS STUFF OUT WITHOUT MUCH FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE. That being said, please point out weaknesses but recognize that I haven't had the experience yet to see my own glaring mistakes. I am using a ton of OUs but I want a good team that does not tap into the Ubers so I don't see much of a way around using them.

I am leaving EV/IV/Nature out of it for now. And I do not have the moves 100% figured out but here is what I currently have thought of.

1. Jolteon (Choice Scarf)
Baton Pass
Substitute
Thunderbolt
???????????What should I put here??

2. Gyarados (Life Orb)
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Bite
Ice Fang

3. Weavile (Choice Band)
Pursuit
Ice Punch
Brick Break
Night Slash

4. Gengar (Choice Scarf)
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Explosion

5. Tyranitar (Choice Band)
Crunch
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Pursuit

6. Salamence (Choice Specs)
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
Hydro Pump

Noticably missing from my team is a wall/stall. I am hoping this team gets going fast and stays on the offense, when something dies I figure I can just restart the offensive with a baton pass from Jolteon or put Gengar in to force the opponent to switch. As a sort of mini stall I am considering replacing salamence with Celebi and leechseeding/recovering an enemy to death or at least for good dmg.

I start with Jolteon in the hopes of running into something I can fry early with thunderbolt. If it doesn't look like I can get a quick kill(or if my enemy switches) I can substitute and baton pass to Gyarados and Dragon Dance into a sweep. That's the plan at least. If/when my Gyarados gets dropped I come in with Weaville and work pursuit for the revenge kill. After that kill I might be able to present a Gengar and catch the opponent off-guard.

I've only had this game for 24 hours and I have not even seen any of these pokemon in game, nor seen any friends with them so please help me out if anything I said was blatantly incorrect or would not work. Please help me out. I've been reading up on the end game and have basically been trying to figure out how this could work. Any recommendations for moves/strats/or different pokemon please let me know. And as I said before: I don't understand how this type of offensive team could really utilize a wall....if some1 could explain that for me please do. It seems like my group is a bit heavy on dragons so maybe I could rep one with Infernape??

Please don't just point out weaknesses but show how I can correct them ^^
Thanks to all.

Okay. Five Choice items are a bad idea. Especially on a Jolteon with non-attacking items. I suggest you read the stickies before even attempting a Wi-Fi team.

I know the all-out offensive idea seems nice to start with, but you'll realise when you're out-stalled and statused how you need something other than sweepers. You also need to get rid of half of those choice items like blueberry said.

So yeah, you really need to read the stickies. Learn about EV training and team composition, then try again. Also, try to think logically- Is choice and hypnosis really a good idea on gengar?

Offensive teams work, as I can tell you from using one with tremendous results and also playing against them with stall teams or defensive teams...

...But with all these choice items, especially on pokemon that don't need them, you aren't going to be hurting anything. Take out all the choice sweepers and put in a few SDers and CMers to help you not get stalled to death. It's also important that you have pokemon cover each others' weaknesses and that you have needed resistances, yet you lack simple ones like a rock resist.

Standard Gengar i've seen has

Sludge Bomb
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Energy Ball

It does vary, mix it upa bit try new things. See what works best. However, yes read the stickies, useful information. EV training is very important. I know I've been breaking my neck setting up teams and different combos.

Walled by steel types, go Focus Blast/Thunderbolt/Hidden power Ice or Hypnosis/Shadow Ball on scarf gar.

At first I wanted to reply to this thread because I thought your name was a Phoenix Wright reference (I misread it as WrightPhoenix). Anyway, since you just got DP yesterday, you might want to take things a bit slower. Read the stickies, learn about IVs/ EVs, and maybe beat the game before really getting into it. But I may as well give my two cents on the team.

Like everyone else said, Too many Choice sweepers is a bad idea. If someone switches in a wall that resists the attack of a Choice sweeper, you need to switch. And if all your Pokemon are Choice sweepers, you'll switch a lot, and you won't be able to do much to an opponent. 1-2 Choice sweepers is generally the limit- you need Pokes that are versatile. You also need walls.
