Creating this thread will probably cause a week-long outage here... *touch wood*

Buuut... yeah, mine hasn't dropped out in years, and when that happened there was a massive bushfire in the area. Hell, we had really nasty flooding here last year, and our neighbourhood was the only one in the city that didn't drop out. o_O

Previously it happened every few weeks, but now it only seems to happen during reeeeally bad storms/fires/etc.

Anyway. Your turn. Go. DO IT!

You win most random topic of the week :'D.

Not often at all does my power go out. With all the severe storms we go through, I'd think it would go out often, but unfortunately, it doesn't. That sucks for myself, since I love storms and power outages. :33;

Last outage - Anywhere from August 2nd - 20th. Why? Severe thunderstorm at four am. WOAHZORZAMAMAMAZINGLOVEITLOTS. The thunder was like fooooooossshhh and hit my street and such. It was epic. (:<

It's been long but we can do it; let's make this our dream

Look to tomorrow because it's all we have. Turn up the music until the walls shake. What do we have?
Is it hope? Love? Is it nothing at all? We won't know at all until we make something of what we feel.
When that happens, we'll find the truth. We'll find what we want. And we will find ourselves, finally.

Ironic, I was talking to someone just now whom is on the receiving end of a storm. XD;

Not very often, to be honest. The most we get here would be torrential rain; on very rare occasions we get storms that would launch happy bolts and smite the power in the household. We've had one fairly recently, which was probably the first time in several months.

During the summer it'll go out if we get some heavy storms. And then every once in a while we'll get a random power surge, but other than that very rarely.

...irony much?
*just had the power out from 4:50-6:25*

It goes out every now and then if we get a bad storm, but lately it goes out more often/longer since our old power company got bought out. The worst it's ever been was during Hurricane Isabel, it went out for 3 days, which wasn't long compared to some other people in the area.

Our power doesn't go all the way out very much, but we get random flickers alll the time, at least once per day. I can actually only remember it being out and staying out once, when we had a huge ice storm a few years back. We were without power or phone service for most of that day. No internet for 15+ hours = torture ._.; </addicted>

My power rarely goes out. Last time it went out was during this killer thunderstorm (BEST THUNDERSTORM OF THE SEASON, I MUST ADD. 8D), and even then, it was only for, like, five minutes. XD;

Although, I remember a few years back, there was this massive power outage across Ontario and parts of the US that lasted a little while. We were lucky enough to get ours back after 24 hours, but some people didn't get theirs back after a few days. ._.

I think the last time the power went out for us, it was scheduled, and it was a year or two ago? I think?

Power rarely goes out, if ever. Our power companies must be good, and we're rarely in storms severe enough to knock out power. ._. The last time I can remember that power was out due to bad weather, I was really little.

It's been a long time since the power went out, probably a year or two I believe. The last time it went out was during, yes, a severe storm in the dead of night. xD But since where I live, we don't receive such harsh weather most of the time, the electrical supply is always here~

We sometimes lose power due to power surges. But rarely, the whole neighborhood would go out. We'd have to reset almost all the clocks in the whole house (and they're always the same ones....-_-)

The storm season in VA has been terrible, it's almost like we never get a break. The last time our lights almost went out was July 4th. We were lucky that time, yes, our lights blinked a thousand times, but didn't go out. That time the rain was coming down so incredibly hard you could barely see outside, and the wind looked like it would knock a large branch off a tree, and the branch would fly through the window. But the last time our lights actually went out, and stayed out, was that terrible.. terrible day. .__. It was perfectly fine that afternoon, mom was at McDonalds getting a salad, and I was on the computer. All of a sudden, the lights go out for no apparent reason. I look outside, it's dark as can be, but not actually storming, then my brother called me from church to see if our lights were out. "Yes." Mom came back, and came back in the nick of time, she had sat at table, and was eating her salad. I noticed dad watching the door, I heard a huge wind gust, and next thing I know, dad says, "Uh-oh, we better head to the bathroom." Mom, the cats, and I ran in the bathroom for cover, daddy, stupididly runs outside. o_o He runs back in the bathroom, which you couldn't see in the bathroom since the lights were out, dad stays for about 2 minutes until he runs back outside. Everything was fine. It stopped storming, and now it was just showering, but the lights were still out. They didn't come back for two days, and why dad sent us in the bathroom, we don't know why. His excuse is, "I saw a funnel cloud."
But of course, no one believes him. XD

But it wasn't too long after that we had another storm that did the same thing. Turns out we were watching the window, listening to the scanner, people were coming up saying stuff like, "Tornado at local high school. High schoolers were on the football field at the time." Then, as my brother watching the window, "It's getting kind of dark over there." We didn't pay attention. Then my brother says, "Those dark clouds are coming towards us a little fast." We all glanced, but still didn't pay much attention, then it hit, my brother says, "Whoa..." Mom, dad, and I looked at the window, the pitch black clouds were moving faster than a car at top speed, they all started coming together and spinning, the spinning black clouds were moving to the right of us, but kept gaining speed. My Uncle who lives right by us called, "Are you watching this?"
"Yes." Mom answered.
"Y'all better go to the bathroom fast!" My poor southern accented family. ._. The lights went out, we were all in the bathtub. XD Dad, does the same stupid thing, and goes outside. Dad ran in the bathroom, layed on the floor, and looked like he was covering his head, then the conversation lights up with dad saying, "Since I'm in the bathroom, I might as well take a dump." XD Everything was fine, the storms had lightened up, and the lights came back on, but they were out for quite awhile. That hasn't happened again, and hopefully it won't ever happen again, but those were the storms that knocked the lights out for awhile.

That was just recently though, the longest it's ever been out was Hurricane Isabel hitting, it was out for about a week.

My power goes out rarely and when it goes I am always using something plugged in. At times different parts of the house power goes out while power is still in another room. Last time I can remember when there was a terrible storm here last year and the whole streets power was off, street lights and all.

Only when it's really stormy out here. If I know there is a risk of losing the power, I will save more often or log my computer off completely.
