This game is a first-person shooter and the sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, developed by Insomniac. It begins where the first game ended, where the post-credits epilogue from the original game is the same as the opening cutscene for Resistance 2. In the first game, players had the role of an American soldier trying to fight back an alien invasion in Britain. For the sequel, you play as Nathan Hale. Because of the events of Resistance's alternate history timeline, 1950s America never recovered from the Great Depression. Hale begins his campaign in San Francisco and will eventually move across the United States, taking on the Chimeran forces when he's needed.

Highlights include two story modes, one for single player and one for 8 player co-operative. Players will not be able to choose a difficulty level when starting the co-op game. Instead, the game's difficulty will be based on the team's skill and rank as it increases while you play. If you don’t have 8 friends that own PS3s, that doesn’t matter, because there will be a system available to get random players online who are at the same point in the co-op mode’s story. Aside from that, there is an introduction of character classes, with players having the choice of being a tank, a specialist, or a medic for multiplayer purposes. The multiplayer will be able to support up to 60 players online. This may sound confusing, but players will be split into lobbies of six-to-eight-member squads, each with different objectives.

It is set to be released this Fall in America and Europe. After watching the E3 trailer and gameplay demo for this, I am really looking forward to it. So who else is planning on picking up Resistance 2?

Duuude i so cant wait for this. I wasnt aloud to get RFoM (:/) but i probably will get this. The 60 player online will be the sickest thing to hit this year.

It depends for me, there will be a strong chance I'll buy at least the first one when I go to the videogame store next weekend. But, is RFoM like most other war games? If it is, I'm probably not picking it up

It's only available as a PS3 exclusive, so yeah. XD;

RFoM is basically a war game that takes place in a gloomy alternate reality in which World War II never happened. As political tensions run high in the middle of the 20th century, a monstrous race of creatures show up. The species is known as the Chimera.

I think you should consider getting Resistance 2 though.

Oops i was thinking of a different game for a second :P

I usually dont care about the campaign unless im home alone and have nothing to do, and since this multiplayer is going to define this game, thats the only reason i want it.

Im also thinking about Socom Confrontation, Killzone 2 and some other shooters. IMO [well what ive seen since there not out] they cant touch Resistance 2

So... basically it is like the Gears of War for the PS3? If so, that'd be sick!

Resistance 2 not only looks like an amazing game, I'm actually interested in the story this time.

R:FoM took place in Europe, but this one is taking place in America, which interests me a bit more. I'm especially impressed by the new Chimera. During E3, they showed the huge one attacking Chicago and it made me extremely interested because it not only looks good, but looks to be a better story than the previous entry in the series.

Now that I read about it more and watched the trailer, I'm probably going to get it.
Also, it's made by Insomniac, who made Ratchet and Clank series, which was amazing on the PS2. So, I'll probably get it.
