This game is a first-person shooter and the sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, developed by Insomniac. It begins where the first game ended, where the post-credits epilogue from the original game is the same as the opening cutscene for Resistance 2. In the first game, players had the role of an American soldier trying to fight back an alien invasion in Britain. For the sequel, you play as Nathan Hale. Because of the events of Resistance's alternate history timeline, 1950s America never recovered from the Great Depression. Hale begins his campaign in San Francisco and will eventually move across the United States, taking on the Chimeran forces when he's needed.
Highlights include two story modes, one for single player and one for 8 player co-operative. Players will not be able to choose a difficulty level when starting the co-op game. Instead, the game's difficulty will be based on the team's skill and rank as it increases while you play. If you don’t have 8 friends that own PS3s, that doesn’t matter, because there will be a system available to get random players online who are at the same point in the co-op mode’s story. Aside from that, there is an introduction of character classes, with players having the choice of being a tank, a specialist, or a medic for multiplayer purposes. The multiplayer will be able to support up to 60 players online. This may sound confusing, but players will be split into lobbies of six-to-eight-member squads, each with different objectives.
It is set to be released this Fall in America and Europe. After watching the E3 trailer and gameplay demo for this, I am really looking forward to it. So who else is planning on picking up Resistance 2?
