First kill the virus if you can and haven't. Now, I've forgotten how to do it (a future poster will likely say) but find what your video and audio cards are (if you don't already know) and tell us here. The step after that is simply finding and reinstalling the correct drivers.

I'm thinking though, running a system restore might just get your problem solved straight away anyway...

lol so um how would i find out what cards I have??
My memory and common sense have kicked in now...

Video is Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Adapter
Audio is Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices (shame on me for missing that when I looked) > Audio, should be listed under "sound playback".

Lite-On LTR-24102M is a CD-RW drive, seemingly quite an old model...

Aw bugger... I'm bad at this. >_>
VGA is the generic, uh... screen display thing without video card drivers.

Ehh. That's all the help I can provide, sorry if I wasted your time.

start > control panel > system > hardware > device manager

click on the computer name then scan for any hardware changes, if none are detected, then go find your audio and video card in the device manager and then uninstall them and restart, windows should automatically reinstall them

There is a neat way to identify hardware. Go back into the Device Manager, open the properties page of the unknown VGA device, and go to the details tab.

Then, head over to www.pcidatabase.com and look up the vendor and the device! Should help you find out what drive you need to be downloading.
