Okay well I am a Manga artist, and well I need you guys help. I know the general concept, I started reading the Dragonauts Manga and that inspired me to do something about humans transforming into Dragons to, what? Thats where I need you guys help, I need you to come up with a story, and I might be able to include you in the splash page. (Oh and if anyone can tone that will be a huge help (I kinda suck at that).

So the Universe consists of two worlds each containing life, one is the human world, the other is the Supernatural world, this is where dragons live. When a dragon dies in the supernatural world it's spirit is given a choice. To just die, or be place in a human body. If they choose to be placed in a human body their spirit is transfered from their world to ours into the human body, this allows the humans to transform into them. They cannot control what the human does with their body, and when the Human is transformed into a dragon all of the pain the human feels the dragon does too. A human with a dragon's spirit inside them is called a Dragonspecter. Whelp thats what I've got, what about you guys?

so...wait, what do you want this storyline to be like? do you want the characters to be in high school,then find out about these powers? or what time period do u want it to be in? because you can make it so that Ryuu one day suddenly finds out he has powers, and slowly figures out how to use them while discovering others around him...or you can start out having him already with experience, knowing how to control it while fighting...demons or something

Tell me about the genre as well as what the above poster has asked before I go any further with that though. I'd be keen to do some enemy design. :3

Okay, genre, well... Fantasy Shonen I guess...
Enemies: other Dragonspecters and possibly Human Dragon Hybrids (Called Dracosapiens) that are made when a dracomancer mates with a human.

Ooh then I'm out for what I was gonna do, I can only draw plain, basic humans. :|

Still, you can drop me a PM if you're stuck at something in your progress on this and I'll see if there's anything I can come up with, idea-wise or whatever.

No, I can draw everything fine, I just need a little help with the plot.

Let me try to help a little. I'm not good in explaining but I'll do my best.

Things you need to know before the plot can start
-Time?
-Place?
These can be adjusted while writing the plot though, but they can help a little. If your story takes place in the past you can do something with an evil emperor or a magician who wants to rule both worlds (with a little help of an evil dragon in that part). It's kinda cliché but it always works if done good. xD
In our time you'd have a bussiness man or a scientist instead of the emperor.

- Like deadmuffin said, will they already know of their powers or not. If they don't you can use the surprise effect in the firs chapter. =D You can start with a few pages of introduction. You know the one your wrote in your first post. Then you can slowly go into the human world... slowly introduce your characters and then near the end.. something of might start to happen. >: And then it's up to you...let it happen in the second chapter or let it actually already happen in the first chapter. If you don't work with chapters it's much easier. xD But chapters work well for the 'manga-effect'.

As for the plot... I was thinking. Hope you don't mind if I add some more characters. :3

So you start at a normal day in school, the main character Ryuu is a little bored becauses classes are going to slowly... it's friday afternoon, so the weekend will start soon. He has plans and would rather leave school than stay there for a few more houres. If finally the bell rings, he meets up with his friend and they start talking about the weekend while going out. While leaving the schoolgrounds they hear girl scream, she is being surrounded by some evil higher graders. ô-o Ryuu with his strong sense of justice, steps forward to save her. But he and Hiro are attacked by the guys. Angry, he suddenly releases a whole lot of power, blowing away the thugs and almost Hiro and the girl too. Hiro runs towards the girl and asks if she is okay, but they're suddenly hit by another gust of wind (a hard one). Before Hiro faints, he sees in the clearing dust the shadow of a enormous creature.
When he wakes up, he notices the beast is gone.. all that is left is the uncounscious figure of his friend. His schooluniform is torn and he's covered by bruises. When Ryuu wakes up he tells his friend that he doesn't remember anything.

Now to introduce the enemies. Someone witnessed the whole thing and is pleased by what he saw. He and his dragonlike companion are part of an organisation which is ruled by a man who is a decendant of an ancient family who knows all about the two worlds and the Dragons mixing with humans. He is also aware of the legend that says that when enough Dragon Spirits gather at the Dragon Mountain where the Temple of the Sky Dragon (the god Seiryuu) is located the gate to the world of the Dragons will open. Bestowing on one ultimate power/three wishes to grant, bla bla bla and access to the Dragon World. He had his eyes set on the girl, who is also a decendant of an ancient family and can also change into a Dragon. Probably some Eastern like Dragon. But now he has also found Ryuu.. and later Hiro...

You could devide the story in two parts:
one being in our world, and one in the Dragon world. where they Ryuu and co try to stop the evil Dragon Lord (as the man refers to himself)

I know it's cliché. XD I've read to many Fantasy books. It's always good against evil. But if you manage to give your own swirl on the events, things might turn out quite good. :3 But again, I'm very aware that it's cliché. XD Just do with it what you want. :3

Okay I'm gonna edit the First post to have all the Information about the Manga. (Soon, maybe a little now). So... yeah, unfortunately my scanner is having issues (in other words its broken and I have to buy a new one, so I can't upload any pictures.)

I'm no good at dragon stuff(you know, that dragon types and stuff). But if you need help in the characters, I can help. How 'bout I include my character too?

Hmm... Maybe instead of having a 'DragonLord', maybe you set it up without a noticeable antagonist in the beginning, but then one of your protagonists go mad or something. Just and idea...

Best story I like is the biggest enemy will be the hero's brother or twin brother.
