My happiest; when I caught a few Shiny Skitty (with the Poké Radar)
My saddest; when I was walking through that ashy route in Emerald I saw a Shiny Sandshrew and I didn't have any Poké Balls with me. This thing isn't chainable either =/

My happiest: Catching my first shiny on LeafGreen, Caterpie. My brother managed to get 3 shinies before I got the Caterpie, so it was pretty awesome.

My saddest: Losing my Shiny Smeargle, it struggled to death.

I'm amused by the fact that all of you can pick moments that you think are above every other moment you've experienced with your Pokémon games. I have plenty and I'm sure that I've told all of them in one thread or another, so feel free to skip my post if you get the feeling that you've read it before.

Happiest moments: The day I bought Pokémon Blue. I had been begging my parents to let me get it for months and they refused, thinking that video games rotted your mind. I'm not saying they don't, but I still think that that was a horrible reason that my parents threw in front of me. Anyways, I remember putting it on and not knowing what to press and bursting out laughing after about fifteen minutes of staring at the screen. I was five, you can't blame me.

My friend got a cheating device, I'm not sure if it was an Action Replay... It probably was. He caught loads of Pokémon previously unobtainable such as Mew and Celebi (this was the days of Gold, Silver and Crystal, remember) and he traded them to me. The next day, we walked into school and so many offers were put up to us for the Pokémon in question, it was unreal.

Finding out a couple of years later that I wasn't the only person who still liked Pokémon when I joined a few Pokémon forums. That was great.

Saddest Moments: Er, this title obviously goes to the shiny Zubat I encountered in my Firered version and that was when I found out that I had no Poké Balls on me. I haven't picked up my Firered version since then.
'It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.'

Happiest moment?

Probably when I first found out how to catch a pokemon. :) I honestly did not know how to catch any and then me and my friend were at a hotel in Florida on vacation and we caught one. I had already beaten two leaders so this was fantastic. First Pokemon I ever caught was Sandshrew.

Saddest Moment?

IN the game it was finally beating it. Outside of the game it was seeing the Pokemon TV show go from fantastic with Ash to incredibly mediocre with the new people.

My happiest moment would proably be when I caught that shiny Zigzagoon in Ruby. It's now sitting in a box on my PC in Diamond because, well... I wouldn't use it in battle. :x I just remember rubbing it in my sister's face that I caught a shiny before her. XD

My saddest moment would be when I accidentally ran away from a shiny Pokémon in Sliver. I thought there was something wrong with the game at the time, because I had no idea alternate-coloured Pokémon existed, but when I did find out about shinies, I remembered this moment and got really annoyed. Happiest moment: Beating Red for the first time. The satisfaction that comes with beating the game the first time is immesurable.

Saddest moment: Hate to jump on the shiny bandwagon, but it was when I found a level 22 shiny Raticate. My entire party at the time consisted of level 55+ Pokemon. (I was biking between Olivine and Ecruteak, because I was too lazy to Fly.) I could only get it at about 40% HP, which wasn't nearly enough. I ran out of the few Ultra Balls I had...:(

Happiest:

Getting Porygon on yellow for the first time. After doing the slots for three days straight, I finally got it. Not only did it complete my pokedex, but I liked the little guy so much that he became my lead pokemon.

Saddest:

My Sapphire version got dirty, and not only did I lose some of my best pokemon, but the game wouldn't work anymore.
At least I traded Raquaza and Kyrouge to my ruby version... Which I also lost.

Fondest Memory:

I remember stating this in a thread about Pokémon Miracles, but here it goes again:
It was my first time defeating the Elite Four of Gold and I had got all the way to Lance, however; I forgot to save and I was out of items. After getting down to the last of Lance's Pokémon, I thought victory would be assured. However, after using one Flamethrower I found out I was all out of PP. I couldn't believe it! I made it all that way and now Lance was going to kill me because I ran out of Power Points. -.-
However, by some miracle, that last Pokémon of Lance's just kept missing me. Every turn I would, of course, struggle against it and eventually I beat the Elite Four by using Struggle. Isn't that amazing? xD

Saddest Moment:

The time I left my Yellow and Gold versions over at my Grandparen't house and the save files were erased. I was so upset by this that I didn't play Pokémon for almost a complete year. However, I eventually forgot my sorrows and decided to start my Pokémon love over again with the release of Crystal.

Happiest moment:
Catching a shiny Aron. I used ember on it which caused it to burn. I thought it was gunna die! I kept throwing pokeballs at it praying that one would catch my first shiny... but all failed. Each turn Aron's HP got lower and lower untill he had 1 HP left and I had 1 pokeball left. And I caught it!!! I was so happy. :)

Saddest moment:
After I defeted lance I thought I beat the game. I only had 1 pokemon in the red zone and no items. I was so happy until I found out I had to battle Gary! I was a kid! I thought the Elite '4' meant '4' trainers. Why add a 5th!? I lost and I was so sad :(

Happiest- beating blue for the first time. It took me forever to beat the elite 4 just because i only used blastoise. After a ton of losses, i finally was able to beat them when blastoise reached lvl 100.

Saddest- My brother started a new game in my blue version and it overwrote my game. I miss my blastoise :(

I probably have several moments I can list for each category.

Good Times:

Getting my copy of Pokemon Blue. I traded it for my sister's copy of Pokemon Red, and we spent that evening out in the garage playing our Pokemon games. I was only around 12 years old, and it was my first time getting into Pokemon. Good times.

Catching Mew via the Mew Glitch in Pokemon Red. It takes a lot of convincing to make me believe a glitch actually works - in other words, I have to see it with my own eyes.

Playing Pokemon Crystal for the first time. I'd bought the game one summer, only to discover that it wasn't compatible with my Game Boy. Since I'd already opened the package, I couldn't return it, so I had to wait until Christmas to get a Game Boy Color. Before that, though, one of my friends at school let me borrow her Game Boy Color, and I spent the whole bus ride home playing Pokemon Crystal. I loved that game, and still do.

Catching Latias for the first time in Pokemon Emerald. I had been searching for that Pokemon for three days after beating the Elite Four, with no success. On the day before the game rental was due back, I ran into her on a random trip through Route 117. Fortunately, I'd saved my Master Ball.

Things I'd Rather Forget:

Running into a shiny Poochyena on Route 103. I was at a point in the game too early to have my first five Poke Balls, so the only thing I could do was either run away or defeat the Poochyena.

Continuing with the shiny Pokemon disasters, I ran into a shiny Xatu in the Safari Zone in Emerald. The thing escaped, of course, ending the battle before I could capture it.

One time, I wanted to restart my Crystal version, so I traded all my good Pokemon over to a rented copy of Pokemon Stadium 2, thinking I could trade them back after starting a new game. Guess again. In order for trade-backs to be possible, you need to have at least 150 Pokemon caught in your Pokedex. I sure as heck wasn't going to achieve that in the two days I had left on the Pokemon Stadium 2 rental, and I didn't want some other player stealing the Level 100 Pokemon I had so carefully raised, so I just deleted them all from the cartridge.

Hmm I don't tend to get attached to my Pokemon games, but I guess there are some good/bad memories.

Best Moment: When I was a little kid (probably about 8?) and I got a Gameboy and Pokemon Silver for christmas, so I played Pokemon for the first time. Man my Totodile was a pimp. Another good time was when the local shopping centre did some promotion for Pokemon Crystal and handed out Celebi to Gold and Silver games. My Celebi was completely rubbish because when you're 10 or so it's not like you know what a good moveset is, but still.

Saddest Moment: I've never really had any emotional bond with any Pokemon game, but I guess the saddest Pokemon moment for me was about a year ago on that same silver game when I turned it on and all I saw was "New Game, Options" The battery ran out! :( And it had a tanky save file, I had almost all the Pokemon you could get in Silver without trading, I think I was just short herracross [damn bug was impossible to find].

On the top of my head (I'll probably add more later), happiest moments were starting the game :D, beating the Pokemon League, catching Kyogre and Latias, and later realizing that I caught my first shiny :) (Golbat)!!

My saddest moment really isn't in-game; I lost 2 Pokemon Sapphire carts (w/ over 200+ hours playtime each :'(, and good items, a few Shinies, and a legit Jirachi w/Ganlon Berry [plus a AR'ed Mew & Celebi]) and 1 Pokemon Emerald save file due to the cart dislodging while saving in a Secret Base (which had the 3 Johto starters traded from my friend, but now I have to finish the Pokedex three times with 3 playthroughs :().

Happiest moment: Getting my very first Pokemon game (Yellow) and a few years later getting my Nintendo DS lite with Pokemon Diamond from my boyfriend (I thought I could never play new Pokemon games as I couldn't afford a Nintendo DS myself)

Saddest moment: Losing my save state at my Silver version and therefore losing all the Pokemon I had raised in Yellow and transfered there and losing the Celebi I had gotten from a Nintendo Pokemon event

I would have to say my happiest moments in any of the games is catching a shiny Pokémon that is not per-programed to occur, like the Red Gyarados in G/S/C. My saddest moments would be knocking out or have no Pokéballs when I encounter shiny Pokémon.
