What are the jocks and people like at your school? Are you one?

At my school, the jocks are usually the cute boys with blue eyes and blond and or brown hair. The cheerleaders think they are top of the school. And the snobs which are the girls, are sluts/tramps. I feel bad for any guy that is dating a slut. Soo sorry....

Rofl the cheerleaders at my school used to be all fat and ugly just a couple of years ago. XD They're not so fat now, but most of them are nice and don't think they are at the top. :3

As for the jocks.. I'm not too sure. I think mostly just ugly guys who act like retards and think they're all cool, but then they turn around and find out they are getting single digit grades in all their classes. :) The ones who get high grades I would group with preps. <<;;

Er, I know I've said it before and I'll say it again; I'm not in with your American lingo. However, I think I actually understand the first post (for once) so for once I can actually post in a topic such as this.

I go to an all-boys school, unfortunately, but the people who think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread generally tick people off. They say that they're cool, right? I was always under the impression that if you were cool, you were popular. Putting people down to stroke your egos does not count as being popular, in my book. There are about ten people in my year who think they are in complete control of the school and they slag everyone who isn't in their clique. Being cool and being popular are two different things and once the world realises that, schooling will be much cooler.

I consider myself popular, but I don't go around stating that I'm too cool to be associated with certain people.

Well, the jocks are the athletic ones obviously. So all the guys who participate in sports are considered jocks. And I hate the sterotype that jocks are dumb because a lot of them [in my school] are in honors classes, etc. The cheerleaders in my school are cliquey but they're not stuck up or anything, most of them are actually pretty sweet.

The snobs, well. I dunno..D: a snob could be anyone really, they don't have their own group.

I was a cheerleader at high school.

nahhh, ahahah. Umm, at my university you don't really get such divisions, though you have the students studying Arts and the ones who study Exercise Science, so I guess they can be considered the jock/cheerleader types. I wouldn't really know though, since I don't get to talk to them.

Anyway, this thread only requires simple, straightforward responses, so it belongs in Other Voting Polls.

OMG, hahahahah I totally could've guessed that based on the short conversation we had XDD
It fits yeh XD

Well, we have the "2 kewl 4 skewl" guys... The "also 2 kewl 4 skewl" girls... The skaters, punks, emos... The "wannabe 2 kewl 4 skewl" guys... The farmers... The "loners"... and the people who aren't in a "group".

I am the latter

I don't believe in these kinds of labels.

Not that they exist in my school anyway. If there's someone annoying in our school, everyone will want to punch them in the gut until they start bleeding internally. No exceptions. There are sluts, there are cheerleaders and there are jocks, but none of them are bad (the slutties have bad reps though and can sometimes be snappy and idiotic, but that's about it).

About 60% of the school is comprised of idiots anyway, so the only 'labels' that would apply to us are 'smart' and 'stupid', and those aren't generic high school stereotypes.

I really don't know where I stand in my school, I'm close friends with like 13 of the people of the Football Team, and I'm also friends with the people who dress up like Ravers and wear lip piercings. I have friends who are complete WoW nerds, yet I've also dated three cheerleaders in my lifetime.
Heh, mind of a geek, body of a 6'4" 230llb football player.

lol i hear dat. Theres this Emo kid, Parker in my Social Studies class and he freaks me out!!!!! And I kinda like the skater guys. I'm always the first to sign there casts :) lol

Virtual Chatot: The guys that play Foorball at my school on the JV team are somewhat toothpicks. They date sluts (not cheerleaders) and no offense to any of the LMS cheerleaders....but some of them are fat. Not phat FAT. And they can't cheer, they can't do anything like most cheerleaders. I was gonna join the squad, but Im too good for that ;)

Another thing about the cheerleaders and football players at my school, are total jerks! I have to sit in front of a football player on the bus and he always talks about his girlfriend which gets annoying coz he does it for 45 minutes! Almost an hour if the bus is late! And my so-cal friend, Ashley, is a cheerleader and I sit by her class at lunch, and she always talks to another cheerleader about there little 6th grade boyfriend. And these are 7th graders mind you. The only normal people I know are my friends, Grayson, Travis, and somewhat Zack and his friend whom I do not know his name...

okay, another question!
What's the style at your school? What brands do they wear?

Here's what its like at my school:
Ambercrombie
Ambercrombie&Fitch (yes, theres a diffrence)
Holister
Aeropastel
American Eagle
and a bucnh of other brands that are too stupid to name...

The "jocks" as you call them are the guys who are good at sports, obviously. But if you were to walk around my school on a normal day you wouldn't be able to pick up who's a "jock" and who isn't. No one walks around the school acting they someone owes them something. [well, maybe except the so'les but usually they're OK]

There are no cheerleaders in my school. It's all boys.

Yeah, but you kinda made it sound like that in your first post n___n;
I just hate it when people are giving me labels without even knowing me, and heck, you should know how people talk behind your back somethimes when they figure out you're a cheerleader. I only cheer since this year, and what I hear somethimes in the corridors is just everything accept nice :/

But I'm sorry if I sounded mean there.

OMG, hahahahah I totally could've guessed that based on the short conversation we had XDD
Lul. xD Am I so easy to figure out then D:
No, I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you.

The jocks at my school are the really buff football players, but I'm cool with them so they don't give me any problems. The cheerleaders at my school are HIDEOUS and their moves suck, so they have nothing to boast about. I have yet to meet any truly snobby/stuck up/conceded people.

At my university the Jocks are either the really nice guys who help everyone out and are pretty cool about things or the big butts who have no lives except to play Madden all day. Our cheerleaders are nice and help out a lot, but suck at cheering. The only real snobs are some of the rich kids. I emphasize some because I'm friends with several who are ok.

Ah, the proverbial cliques...

Well, I can safely say that I consider myself a nerd. The label was not given to me and, personally, I have never heard anyone call me that of whom I didn't wish to.
(My friends and I call each other nerd back-and-forth because we're strange like that...)

The "Preps" in general, that would be Jocks and Cheerleaders, are actually pretty nice once you get to know them. In fact, these same preps out rank me in academic standings.
(Most of them are in the top 15% of my graduating class as well...)

I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I have a lot of classes with them, or that I spend a lot of time doing extra-curricular activities with them, but I really consider them to be quite funny and not at all awkward to be around. They only time they're annoying is when they begin to talk about athletics and such... then my interest is gone.

Of course there are Emos, Punks, Hicks, Self-proclaimed gangsters, and the people who are really just considered losers to all society. The people in the latter half are not to be confused with nerds. Nerds are actually accepted in high regards at my school and people know that fighting with them will solve nothing as they will not fight back.
(Yay for understanding Buddhist wisdom!)

However, I do believe that most titles are dropped once you begin to enter your latter years in High School. Everyone is preoccupied preparing for the real world to worry about such trivial things as what other people do. Sure, we all still dress the part of our associated cliques, but it doesn't seem like we actually perform the mannerisms in which they are usually attributed. All part of growing up I suppose.

Well, my school doesn't really have cheerleaders, but we still have jocks and snobs. The jocks are ALWAYS those annoying chavs that spend the whole day playing football or football video games. And the snobs are obviously the rich kids that brag about how much money they have and you don't. Luckily we don't have many snobs.
