Someone gave me bad rep because my comp got a virus. The description was:
lol, owned.

I don't think that is fair. All I did was post asking what was wrong with my computer, and someone gave me bad rep.

I don't care if you don't take the bad rep away, but that is still a little unfair. Don't you think?

I'd like to at least know who gave it to me so I could ask them why they did that.

Yeah that would suck, that is partially why I disabled my rep, since people just abuse it and laugh in your face, and even give you the facepalm. I remember when I posted something and someone gave me bad rep, and the comment was:

Mobiletsk: I will.

Wind: I know but, it just kind of annoyed me so much. I don't mind getting bad rep if I know I did something wrong. But, rep abuse, can't stand it.

DM: I might just do that, if it comes down to it.

Guys, this isn't the place to discuss negative rep or abuse of the system, if you feel you've been mistreated, talk with higher staff over PM. You don't have to screenshot, just report it to them, they can see it themselves. Talking about it via public thread can just escalate the matter. It's been said in previous threads covering this topic, Seth-kun, search before you post, simple as that.

And staff would never inform someone who gave the rep, that would just lead to flame wars and nothing but negativity. The user abusing would be dealt with by highers, anyway.

That is most definitely abuse of the rep system. I'll take a look into it, but everyone else is right--it's probably best to just PM a higher staff member for help if this happens again.

edit: o_O I don't see it. Has someone already dealt with it?
