Ok..No offence, but I can't see some of them. I mean the choice of colours just makes it look like a blob to me... I'm not saying your bad, but Mabye instead of making your own custom palette, mabye use another pokemons palette. Then when you get better, make your own palette.

Another thing, If you have a colour, and you need a darker shade of that colour, Select the
eye dropper tool, LEFT click on the color you want a darker shade of, then click on Colors,
Edit Colors. Now hit Define custom colors, The full thing should pop up, like in the screenie. now use the COLOR THING and move the Arrow down for a darker shade of that color. For a lighter shade, move the Arrow up. now hit OK, and you have a darker shade!

P.S. I'm Canadian, So I might have spelt "color" like "color" a few times.

Too add to this, you can also change the hex codes, (the red, green & blue values.)
I like changing them by 5 and see what color I get, and experimenting from there. :]

Do you know how to work with the whole right-clicking eraser trick..thingy? If so, well then great, if not, then I'll try to explain. Take the eyedropper tool, and mouse over, and right click, on the color you want the color to replace (i.e. you wanted to recolor an empoleon red, then the red is what i'm talking about) then, take the eyedropper tool again, and click (use your left part of your mouse). This is the color that you want to MODIFY (i.e. in the demonstration before, the blue of empoleon is what I'm talking about). Then, right-clcik (keep holding it down) while you're using the eraser tool, and viola, you've recolored!

Now about your shading, let's take your heatron for example. When recoloring, ALWAYS take two colors that go together to make your recolor both visible, and enjoyable to see. Now, I'm not saying JUST complimentary colors. Just look at the official Pokemon sprites, you get the idea, right? When you're shading, you may have realized in most sprites, there's either 2 different shades, or 3 different shades of the same color, am I right? When you’re working with shading, always take two colors (if you’re working with 2 shades, you’re okay) that are right next to each other, so the contrast is a bit better. The colors you’ve used of one color are too er, different. I can’t think of a word to explain it, but it’s like the color orange with the color blue.

It’s most recommended when you’re doing recoloring, that you don’t use the color white, or black as one of your shades (unless it’s an outline of course).

Also, about PNG. When you save them as a PNG type file, people actually see every pixel nice and clear. If you don’t know how to save your file as a PNG file, when you’re in Paint, and you save a new file, you’ll find the bar underneath the one that says “Name:”, that says “Type:” or something like that. Press the drop-down list, and press PNG, and you’re good.

Hopefully my long paragraphs didn’t bore your half to death. ;)

Okay, before everyone starts flaming each other just about the file type, maybe recoloring might not be your thing. To tell you the truth, recoloring doesn't take much. I'd try something else. You could try scratch spriting or traditional art. If you still like recolors, fine with me. I'm not trying to be bossy or anything, it just seems you could try something else.

I agree that the originality on this board needs to improve, but everyone needs to start somewhere. At least recommend something easier than scratch sprites.

After viewing these I am!!

sorry but calling your critics blind because of your ****-ups just isn't on.
I guess this is what everyone wanted to say... but didn't. XD

In reality, these sprites are way too bright. And I'm about 100% sure that some of these are just inverted sprites.

Hm .. Use paint.net .. it's a much better .. and save as PNG then the sprites colors will look better and don't use white for outlines .. outlines have to be black ..
huh? i use just paint more i don't use i also use it to make sigs :P

anyway you really should save them as png if you can't remember it think about PwNaGe REALLY every time you don't save as PNG you get lots of comments about it try to pick up the construcive critism and don't see it as a rival, were trying to help you making better recolors

Lies. The Jirachi is by far your best work. It shows signs of improvement while your other sprites don't. The color is still not very good, and the shading needs some slight improvement, but it doesn't make my eyes hurt either. Try to move in this direction. You'll only get better if you do.

giratina and azureus look cool, and most of the others are good as well
It would be truly and genuinely better for each and every member that posts on the Pixel Art board if you did not randomly select sprites that you think look "cool" and promote the user to make more of these. Several of the members are trying to bring more originality and talent, and these types of posts don't help.

QFT. Jirachi is the ONLY tolerable one. You've done it nearly right, and it shows that you can do it, you just need to focus more.

AHH XD MGS FAN! XD!!

Well Thank you about the Comments about Jirachi. ^_^ Im trying to work towards no eye burning colours.

Im also trying to focus a bit more then just doing them in two minutes. If anyone wants me to make a sprite for them i could do it for them?

Not much to thank anyone about. Yes, you're improving with that one, but it's still only tolerable. You've yet to show any sign of mastery in recoloring sprites, but I suppose you're well on the right track.
