Okay Thank you for pointing me at the Correct Track.

Do you offer any advice towards this?
My advice is to use Nintendo's colors. Take the colors of another Pokemon and use them to recolor your sprites. You won't even have to worry about picking bad colors.

this thread is very amusing to read through. I laugh at blasting that members do (dont forget people, i was part of that blasting too) But really, this is getting out of hand. There's like 50 posts in here, and only three of them are sethcullen's updates.

After seeing jirachi, i KNOW that you can make some good ones! you actually picked good colors, and did a great job putting them in the right places to make the shading work. you followed peoples tips, tutorials (there's some great ones in here by the way) and you actually made something decent! See, i told ya you could do it, it just takes practice!

Now, all of the critism along the way was not intended to be mean or hurtful. If it was, im sure that any one who wrote it did not mean it to be. We just want to see our fellow spriters improve (which we did)... so dont get to touchy! There's a lot that you learned from here. You did a great job improving, and i commend you for that!

I hope to see more (like jirachi)! Keep Spriting!

YES. This is perfect! What I'm talkin' about. Obvious improvement. The Darkrai/Cresselia one is perfect. Bravo!!!

Guys, your advice isn't helping anyone. It's sucky, to say the least.

These are an improvement (slightly), but you're still having some of the same problems. At least one of those is still JPG. I can't tell for some of them, but the Azelf is absolutely 100% JPG. You've also used two completely different colors for shades of the same general color. That's not a good idea, because it takes away from the 3D appearance of the sprite.

That being said, the Cresselia and Darkrai are the best you've done so far. However, it's not perfect. The outline hasn't been recolored, and it really needs to be.

Espeon and Umbreon aren't completely recolored. Don't leave parts of a Pokemon completely uncolored especially when it clashes with the original color.

I really want to see you try and go beyond recolors. I don't think you're ready for scratch sprites, but I think you can probably do adequately at simple fusions/mixes.

Eh, not exactly what I meant by a simple fusion. XD

And, I forgot to mention before, I'm glad you started using Ninty's colors. Until you can choose high-quality colors on your own, Ninty's colors should work.

Heya~!
Just wanna say, that Scyther one is possibly the most beautiful I've seen (PhotoBucket is removing the past ones?)

But Mobile Tsk is right... there are many problems with the shading... D:
Try and even it out, using the proper lighting angles... And try not to jump the colours in shade so much, like you have in the recoloured Umbreon one...

Nice improvement, though <3 Keep it up!

Well, yes of course you're not perfect with recolors yet, but maybe fusions should be good. If you're going to do a fusion, try to start out with Umbreon and Espeon, since the D/P sprites have their positions fairly similar.

Now that I look closer, I do see some colors left behind not recolored. Heh, though I wouldn't call that much of a problem (as in you can fix it right away).

Anyway, I do hope you still make recolors, and I'll be waiting for more.

These look ALOT better than the ones before. Giratina is my favorite. I don't see much of a difference in rotoms, but you know, boredom usually is something you do to waste time. Regigigas bothers me abit, but other than that, great improvement. :)

Seth i think it's time to get into making fusemons, recolors are a becoming better and better so after a while they become very easy. Ready to make fusemons? Or do you want to stay into the safe recolor area?

Yeah i think im ready for Fusemons. But im just a bit confused. How do you do them?
Heh, I would post a link to my dA guide, but I don't know if that's alowed. ><

You basically take two (or more) Pokemon, move around their body parts, recolor, and try to make it look natural. Of course, the only true rule to fusions is to be creative with your work.

This IS an art board. You ARE allowed to link to tutorials and the like. o.o;

And the only true rule is to make it so your sprite doesn't look like crap. Creativity is something everyone really wants to see, but it's not required.
