just a simple quick question, lets say you hack a pokemon, where you catch it at the wrong location, shiny pokemon with max IV stats. Then you trade it over another game over the Global Center. After, you make a new game and from the other game, you trade it back to this new game. Now, will nintendo be able to trace or catch or even have any ample evidence that you cheated?

No, if you're just playing.

Yes, if you try to enter an official tournament or some such.

That wouldn't be determined by the game cartridge. So you couldn't use AR or w/e to bypass it. I don't know how they check for hacked Pokemon on the GTC or in tournies but if it was in the game cartridge itself...answers would be circling the net.

but think about it, if the location of the pokemon u get bak from GTC does not specify the area but only the region, then its impossible to tell where it came from exactly. Plus, if the base stats r within a good range where it is possible to have max IV if say the pk was caught legitimately, then nintendo cant know for sure if it was original or hacked. right?

If all the wrong data is removed from the Pokemon, what will Nintendo check for?

Nothing... So I spose that you could. But I've never used GTC. Does it really not show where it was caught? O.o

If you want to hack why don't you just hack them well?

I believe there there is a relationship between the IVs and the nature of the Pokemon. If that relationship is broken, the Pokemon can easily be detected as an illegitimate Pokemon. Don't trust my words though since I don't know too much about it.

My impish skarmory with 0 Def IVs suggests otherwise.

But yeah, nintendo don't really care if you hack- that's not illegal or ARs would not be allowed to do it. Likewise if you enter a tournement nintendo won't allow you to use a hack regardless of whether it was you who hacked it or not.

El Gofre just about summed it up.

If you have any further questions, please use the Q&A sticky at the top of the page.
