Thank god the game is compatible with my Wii GH3 controller! That means i'll have 2 guitars, drums and mic. Looking forward to when it comes out, although i think it's kinda expensive!
Actually you'll have three.

You get a bass guitar with World Tour.

Also lucky Americans who have it already :D, When you buy the band in a box, is the game included or not?

In response to the pounds question if the answer to the above question is included, £150, if not £180.

It only comes with one guitar, at least here, and the game is included.

Well, I fully completed this game, except for the "easy/beginner" modes. I have to say, the overall gameplay is alot better than rockband, but the DLC is far worse and will never be up to par with Rock Band's. I figured out just about everything in this game, and overall, it beats rockband I/II

Question!

Are the Guitar Hero World Tour instruments compatible with Rock Band / RB 2?
edit; Also, I'm talking about the Xbox 360 version.
Yes they are considering you have a 360. Some people have reported problems with the drums but that is only for PS3 owners.

I've heard some bad things about this game.
Honestly, I'm not too thrilled with the game either. If you're gonna include vocals and drums, call it something other than Guitar Hero.

This is basically a rock band game.

But also, some songs on there....Guitar Hero II and III have the best songs so far of any GH game.

I'm waiting until March 2009 for ANY GH game to purchase. Why? They're finally coming out with GH: Metallica.

Rock on!

I'd appreciate any reviews on my fic.

I think some UK stores are giving out 2 guitars with the game if you pre - order it. I'm not sure. GH Metallica?! That sounds awesome! Anyway, i might get it, but now that i've heard of the Metallica game.. and yes i do agree GH3 and GH2 had a good setlist, whilst GH: World Tour's setlist is OK, but not amazing. I am also confused why they called it GUITAR Hero: World Tour when it's actually a band game.

Well, if you see the GHIV box it says Pay and Play: Nintendo Wi-Fi. So I suppose the Wii can download as well.

This game is very awesome indeed. Unfortunately, I haven't tried all of the features because my fudgeing Video Game time is restricted in Weekdays >:|. I'll write a full review tomorrow.

But the songs are awesome, that I have to admit.

The RB series is laid out so much nicer,
Agreed. Seriously; what's up with the ugly purple bass line for the drums?

GHWT isn't has good as RB2, even though they are virtually the same thing. Rock Band 2 is preferably better (DLC, for example). It's only good for guitar, hence that's what the name is titled "Guitar Hero," like the slider and hammer-ons. I thought the custom song feature would be a nice addition to beat Rock Band 2, but it's just as lame as the song list. You have a 3 minute or 1200 note limit, which even comes first. I feel I have to squeeze or cut some things out. Also, it's hard for me as a vocalist to get a high score as where I can FC nearly every song on RB2. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what ...

I actually played Guitar Hero: World Tour last Sunday. My friend bought a PlayStation 3 and got the Complete Band set.

We had a jam session with him playing the drums and me on the Guitar I really like the new Guitar they made, since they have a Star Power button next to the strum button. My friend hasn't said anything about the drums yet but he hasn't said anything about getting Rock Band 2 yet.

I really want to play "Pull Me Under" by Dream Theater. I love that song.

Yeah, can't wait! Is the download option only available to the PS3 and 360? 'Cos i have a Wii.. oh well, i guess.
No Wii version has downloads as well. I but i bought it for my PS3 instead of my Wii because it has more HDD space. I cannot wait for next week when the Hendrix Track pack comes out! I'll be able to play Little Wing... without having to learn it

So i was playing this last night, and my apartment mate and i had these two girls over and the four of us were playing, and then we got a knock at our door. Two CAs tell us that were were being loud and that there's a no tolerance for noise violations, so all 4 of us got written up... We weren't playing it too late and we didn't have school the next day, so i don't see the big deal. Although the drums are quite loud and annoying because you have to hit the pads pretty hard for them to register. :\

Well, actually, on my Guitar Hero III for the Wii, if you press the minus button next to the strum bar it activates star power.. but oh well.

My friend got Guitar Hero: World Tour, so i'm gonna go try it with some friends on Friday! Hope it's good, can't wait to try it!

I got this game like a week ago or something, started guitar career on expert, passed everything first time easily and then got to Satch Boogie. Meh. Took me around 20 resets. The first song that I failed on and used to slidey thing (which I love by the way). I ended up tying a bandage to my finger and randomly sliding up and down. Anyway, having finished Guitar career I decided to start the drumming (I got rock band months ago and still havn't touched singing on either games, maybe later), I like the rock band drums a lot more. For guitar, GHWT wins in every aspect, but drums, different story. Sure they look cooler and have cymbals and an extra button but the RB drums are easier to use, except the kick pedal, something else GH drums did better. The songlist could have been a lot better, but it did have B.Y.O.B. which stands for best song ever written, and a few more cool tracks. I think I prefer GHWT to RB, still not sure. I hope to see more SoaD on the downloadable content.

Eh.
I probably won't get it.
I love my GH1 and GH2..
My friend has GH3, and I like some of the songs in it.. but it seems like they just keep making it harder and harder.
If I can't play the game on at least hard (I always play expert) I get mad.
And I tried going from easy and working my way up on some songs..
But that didn't work either. I hate easy and medium mode, because the timing that you hit the notes is different than how the actual music is going, and as an actual musician, I like to play it note-by-note (hence always playing expert).

I dunno.. it doesn't matter anyway.
My "friends" managed to let my PS2 get stolen.
That is.. if it's even available on PS2..
I haven't been paying attention AT ALL. X_x

Well, it's not a "Music simulator". It's a game. Though to be fair, GH3 is guilty of severe over-charting in an attempt to make the game artificially more difficult - Rock Band is far better in that regard.

I have a question for you guys that have it already; the singing feature, does it make you tap or clap or w/e like Rock Band? Like in between beats and what not? Or rather, can someone just give me an overview of the singing portion? XD
