OK. I'm trying to hook my TV up to my laptop using an S-Video cord. I can't seem to do anything on the TV other than move the mouse.

I'd like to be able to use it as a complete second monitor.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand what you are implying. Do you mean you can see your cursor on the screen, but everything else is black or...?

I used to do that for quite some time back when I had my old laptop. Are you sure you have it configured to view on two screens or an outside source?

I'd go through the set-up wizard again (assuming you are using windows and that already in control panel) and if it still doesn't work make note of things you don't fully understand in the wizard

Set-up Wizard???

What is that?
I've never heard of a setup wizard for a monitor...
I don't use windows often anymore- but I was there when my boyfriend set up his S-video cable for the first time, using windows and unless I'm mistaken there should be stuff in the control panel either specific to the S-video cable and if you can't find that maybe add new hardware- dunno for sure, hopefully I could be of some help

all you need to do to set up a second monitor, whether it's a TV or LCD or whatever, is right-Click on the Desktop > choose the settings tab. there should be a drop down box under the layout area (the spot with 2 boxes labeled 1 and 2) the first should be your default monitor, the second should be the second video out. set up the monitor there then all you need to do is drag windows over to that tv screen and you're all set. (if you wish o use it as a second monitor, be sure to check the box in the lower left corner are that says "Extend my desktop onto this monitor" otherwise you'll just have your primary screen mirrored onto the second.

Using a S-Video cable, it's not going to be very good anyway, as you're limited to 480i (640*480). That's pretty small, and it's always going to be blurry. If your TV is infact HD, you should get a VGA cable, or if your laptop supports it an HDMI cable.

Appart from that, what Gerri said.
