Okay, so that "Changeling" movie is coming out tomorrow, and I seriously think I want to see it, but there's one 'issue'...

It's Rated R.

My Question is: Why is that, exactly? Is it an issue of "being able to understand it"?

Erm..generally movies are rated R when they have violence, language or sexual content. o__o;;

It's rated R for violence and disturbing content, and language.
what exactly do you mean by "disturbing" content?

In the USA R means restricted 17+ although I think if you have an adult with you its ok, in the UK it means its a porn movie.

I looked it up, it says you can watch it in the cinema if you have a parent with you.
I know about the parent thing.

I kinda figured that'd be why.

Thanks. (I'm still gonna ask dad to take me.)

It's probably like language or something.

I don't think the 'R' rating should even exist anymore...like...

kindergartners now a days are all like LOL SEX && -insert profanity here- so seriously...their parents not accompanying someone under the age of 18 into a rated R movie isn't really...keeping them from being exposed to that kind of material at all.

If it's not PORN it shouldn't need to be over PG13 IMO. I mean...nothing's even that gorey anymore. To actually see decent gore you gotta rent the 'unrated director's cut' ...which is usually just a lot of extra crap scenes...and still no decent gore.

If it's rated R you still should be able to see it with a parent. Basically they just mean that it contains high levels of violence, coarse language, sex, drugs, etc. Big deal. I watch R movies all the time.
