Okay before I make my suggestion I want to say: "You need to add "Suggestion" to the prefixes people can choose from;)"

Okay since the era of clans in the Wi-Fi Battle Stadium is over and normal activity is in there now, no spamming, flaming and stuff like that, I suggest we make posts count in there, and if you have a problem with memebers receving post counts from there clans then you can always delete all the threads that are after page 5 :)

Suggestion = Question. You're asking if the forum should change something or not.

And the Battle Stadium is just SPAM bait, with each post barely meaning anything.

<Poster 1> Hey, who want's to battle?
<Poster 2> I do. FC?
<Poster 1> In my sig. I'll meet you on Wifi.
<Poster 2> Okay see you there.
<Poster 1> Good game.
<Poster 2> Yeah good game.

And that's six posts right there, none of them actually deserve a +1 in postcount. If postcount were to turn on, everyone's postcount would skyrocket. You'd be getting 40 posts a day or something, and none of those posts are actually well written.

The forum is just a space where people can battle and have fun.

I think you use the "Feedback" prefix for suggestions.

I don't see why Stadium is special and should get post count, because then the other wifi subforums should be able to get post count for those reasons too. The hacks have been reduced, it's less nubby/flamey, and there's normal activity too. The problem with those forums is that posts such as:

"i want to battle, standard, heres my fc"
"ok heres my fc"
"where r u"
"u cheated"
"no u"
"lol my bad i was wrong, gg tho"
"gg too, cool ur strong"
"lets play some other time"
"so who else is next?*
-rinse and repeat-

or vice versa for trading are worthless posts. Sure, I'm biased and those are extreme examples, but that's generally what most of the posts are about. Your example may be polished, but saying, "Yeah good game" just added +1. You're not supposed to get post counts anywhere by simply agreeing anyways. You're supposed to elaborate (such as in polls, question threads, etc). Posting the same thing is spammy.

Deleting old threads is too much work for the staff, and I don't believe PC deletes anything (except for explicit spam). Old threads just get pushed back but still remain for archival purposes.

Does it really make a difference? ._.;

The point is that posts in the Battle Stadium are too easily obtained and terrible quality, and you end up with 40 more worthless posts in your postcount by the end of the day.

Did the other sections just get rid of Clans?

plush, I think that all the sub forums should get post count except for the trade center, but my priority now is the battling center, and I'm suggesting for it, if you want the other sections to get post count then you suggest it.

It's obvious that if I want this I will have to fight for this, Why not just put stricter rules about posting in the battling center, such as moving all battle conversation to pm , such as "I accept" and "what are the rules(if poster posted no rules)" , and to post results and challenges in the battling center, it's simple, to get rid of noobish post make stricter rules.

Just as Kayashi and TwilightBlade have said, basically none of the posts made in the board are worth a +1 in postcount. The posts can consist of 2 words and have no real point to them. Therefore, the member would earnt +1 in postcount for saying something pointless. Basically? It's exactly like Other Trivia - we don't have a post count there because if we did, people would be in the 1000s already for having conversations and playing games.
And deleting threads would be too much work. Threads are only deleted if they contain extreme content - as TwilightBlade said.

Also, as TwilightBlade rightly said, 'Feedback' is used for suggestions. Or you could just put; "Suggestion: [your thread title here]".

The whole idea of the battling centre is so you can have conversations about battling. Apart from DCC which asks for interesting content, other boards which allow you to have conversations can consist of nothing. And nothing should not go towards your postcount.
The rules were put in place to make the board run smoothly and now everything that isn't battling has gone, this is what's happening. Therefore the rules don't need to change.

I guess I could do that.

If people have post in there that consist of 2 words, isn't that against the rules and intractable? isn't the lowest amount you can have 4 words? Is it even possible because you have to have 25 letters?

Wi-Fi Battle Stadium
Want to square off in intense battles over the Wi-Fi connection? Got an awesome team you want to put to the test?
This is the place for you. Discuss everything related to wireless battles here.
Posts in this forum do not add to your total post count. Four-word rule and character-limit do not apply here.
So yeah, that's the description of the forum; read the last bolded sentence. And there are ways for members to bypass the 25 character rule besides a lot of periods and exclamation marks but I'm not telling you. :[

Yes, it is infractable, but people can sometimes bypass the rule. And yes, it's also possible to bypass the character limit.
If someone said;
"Gooooooood game!!111!1!1!!!"
Why in the world should a post like that be worth +1?

Also as Kayashi has posted, the 4-word rule and character bypass don't apply.

Well, even though it's not a good post it still is related to battling. Besides, it doesn't even add up to your total postcount anyways, so why should you worry?

But the point is that most posts in the Trading and Battling forums are really spammy, and they aren't likely to get their postcount enabled anytime soon. Enabling them would either cause the Moderators a terrible amount of work to do or make everyone's postcount skyrocket.

But the thing is, it won't be. This is because the description of the board says the 4-word rule and character limit don't apply. Therefore you can post whatever the hell you want - and it still won't be worth a +1. D:
In addition, posts are never deleted unless they have extreme content.

I think they should change that rule, and make the letter and character limit matter in there so that the posts can count in there.

It's just you. All you're doing is giving the moderators a crapload of work to do. It's not like the spam levels of the post are going to change, and you'd still be getting 40+ posts a day. >>;

I don't understand your argument about being rid of clans..? I still see some active leagues/gyms. They're not gone yet. Tournaments are popular too and draw in large postfests.

And what's this about allowing all subforums post count but not trade forum? o_0; I never advocated allowing post count for them. I'm solely against it since I think both areas can get pretty spammy equally.

As what Kayashi said, if members are going to use VM/PM to carry on conversations, why not use it in the first place?

Your new suggestion could work, but that's creating more work for the mods. I think it's hard enough cracking down on cheaters but now you suggest they would have to punish those making a post like "I accept" and such? It could easily slip a member's mind and enforcing this new rule might be difficult. With all of the activity, how would staff check every thread and every post? There's a lot of "Gooooooood game!!111!1!1!!!" to clean up.

Staff tries their best to make this place fun and friendly, but they shouldn't have to bust their heads open just to make sure you get your 40+ count for the day..

Would "Hey man, that was a really great game" be allowed then? It's over 4 words and 25 characters.

Yo, I just noticed that we're really attacking your suggestion. We don't mean to discourage or offend you, but you're going to need to offer a lot of reasoning and evidence as to why something as big as post count should be changed. :]

If you feel that way, you can PM a moderator from the board and they can have a discussion as to whether they would like to include it.

I seriously doubt that anyone posts 40 post per day, I mean I don't do it, and if someone does, than some of his posts are for sure a spam.

That's basically what we're getting at. People can post whatever in those boards, most of which is likely to be spam or "rule-breaking" posts.

I get what your saying, but stricter rules are not such a bad thing, anyway I pm'ed a mod of that section, and if he approves of this, and is willing to do the extra work then maybe could this go further?

Zomg...If posts in the battle stadium counted, I'd have well over 2000.

Listen, I have to agree with Kayashi and Franceschi. Posts in the Battle Stadium are incredibly simple because there's not a lot of work that needs to be put into them. It's mostly just, "Hey I'm looking for a battle" and "Ok meet you on wifi"...Over and over and over again. Why should your post count go up for repeating the same thing? Posts in other forums actually require originality and thought, while simply saying "Looking for a battle PM me" does not. That's just how that forum operates...Posts with little effort are what mostly make up the battle stadium because they don't need to be spectacular ones, and therefore they shouldn't count.

How about if we would ban official battle threads and make one thread where people would have to request a battle.

And if you would do that then members could start talking about more important things related to wifi battles.

Um, OK, I'm not sure whether you know their genders or not, so I'm assuming it could be either CME or Deano that you PM'd -- either way, I don't think you're getting a "yes" out of them. It's not fair to anyone who makes quality posts in the other sections. That's also why Funtime doesn't have post count. (And Member Fanclubs). The forums are spammy in nature 50% of the time, so post count would get a whole bunch of members blogs when they don't deserve them.
