So, how do you cope during an exam?

Also, do you cope differently depending on how serious the exam is, or do you just cope in the same way towards any exam you take, no matter how you regard it?
And do you believe how you cope affects the outcome greatly?

As for me, I find that when I'm in a serious exam, the pressure really gets to me and on rare occasions, it causes my work to decrease in terms of what I could really achieve. But usually, I can cope under exam conditions quite well.

And I don't think there's recently been a thread similar to this... unless I'm terribly mistaken.. =/

I don't "cope" during exams. I relax.

The key thing to success in school is to study day-by-day. When the exam approaches, you'll have everything known and understood. All you have to do is prepare yourself psychologically for it. I usually do that by going out with friends and having fun.

I put it off. Procrastinate. Hope it'll go away if I ignore it.
Then, a night or two before the final exam, I study like there is no tomorrow. And I end up getting a good grade :33

It's been long but we can do it; let's make this our dream

Look to tomorrow because it's all we have. Turn up the music until the walls shake. What do we have?
Is it hope? Love? Is it nothing at all? We won't know at all until we make something of what we feel.
When that happens, we'll find the truth. We'll find what we want. And we will find ourselves, finally.

eh, for the past two years, I haven't given much of a crap about school or exams. I stressed during the periods, but if I studied an hour for a subject, I considered that it was enough. I coped with the stress by getting the studying out of the way and feeling prepared.

This year I'm taking it seriously, and what's worse is that my school cut mid-year exams. Which means we have a huge exam at the end of the year on everything we've done throughout the year. Oh God that's going to be hell. I might die. :D

Hurray for schoolboards as crappy as PC.

When exams occur, I start to get stressed out, but that's just the manipulation of my mind.

In fact is, exams doesn't scare me, I just relax, I try to study but...I ended up studying while going to school. Do you know how hard it is to walk while analyzing Mathematical Equation? It wouldn't help if your going down the stairs...

I never really stress much in exams, to be honest XD It's more of a "God this is boring I just want to finish D:" thing rather then a worrying about my grades. And it's never failed me, I've gotten good grades on all exams I've taken up to now :>

I treat every exam the same way: with a relaxed attitude. I actually play before the exams too.

As for coping with them, I just tell myself that:

I am not trying to impress anyone but myself
examinations are opportunities to challenge oneself, not to determine who's better than who
I'll do the best I can and surprise (my name)

how do I cope with things...
well for stress I always take a time out, at least 15 minutes of silence. It doesn't matter how busy I get I always take that extra 15 for myself.
for nervousness, I just imagine that no one's there. the only other option is to project myself somewhere totally different in my mind.

Life is like a game of tennis, pressure always gets to you on that last point, even if it's match point to you and your leading 5 - 0. The trick is to keep playing your original game, on your revision and other tests your not completely stressed out right? And you tend not to worry about it, do the same for your exam, don't change anything just becuase it's an exam. It helps big time.

If i'm under extreme pressure, find something that takes your mind of things so you can relax, sing a song in your head, look outside for a bit, the answer will come to you.

Try to remember small parts of the question and usually everything comes back to you.
