While I was going through the 3rd gym again, I realized that my battle style changed a bit throughout my history with this game... I used to be the type of person that'd switch whenever the need to arises, but now I keep my style on set in options, and I don't switch even when a type disadvantage comes up, or when I'm in the red... for offline battles, anyways. Sooooo I made this thread to see what others' styles were. What's yours?

I tend to be a risk taker - I usually stick around until my Pokemon gives all it can give, and faints.

yeah having the style on set forces you to teach your pokemon more a divers moveset

like how i taught my manetric flamthrower or my acrcanine thunder fang

i probably would not have done it if i never changed it to set style.

and plus it makes the game more unperdictable, more on edge. haha

I am more of a strtegic type of person if my pokemon is a bad match then ill exchange for a pokemon better suited for the battle but if im way ahead of them then ill probably be more risky.

If you're talking about in-game, then meh, switching is kind of pointless. Throw Grass Knot / Flamethrower / Close Combat on an Infernape and beat the game with your eyes closed.

In the competitive aspect, I switch a lot. When others switch in a counter to one of my guys, if I can't force him out in some way, then he has an advantage over me. My objective is to always have the pace of the game in my hands, and that can't be done if I keep Swampert in on Celebi because I want Swampert to "give all it can give."

Knowing what your opponent will do is half the battle.

Part of what I used to do is give my Pokemon moves that covered their weaknesses. Nowadays, I realize that it's smarter to use moves that cover as many of the 17 types as possible.

I tend to take a few risks here and there, for the sake of outpredicting the opponent. But for the most part, I try and get in the head of my opponent, in order to easily outpredict them. :P
