Well then....aside from the rude title.....I was very interested in the psychological aspect of posters in this sub-forum. Most in particular....how many people look at the glass not only half empty......but non effin existant. So Im going to conduct a social experiment.

I want to know....what is your perfect YuGiOh deck. please post willingly and feel free to comment on any deck you see.....only if you post your ideal deck. If what I expect to happens does.....I wont be surprised. But more along the lines of my experiment.......I am still very much interested in what everyone has and things.

So please....dont be afraid to pick.

How very smug of you. I think what I'm about to say plays right into your expectations, but I'm going to go ahead and say it anyway.

There is no such thing.

Because of the reactive aspect of YGO gameplay, a deck's performance always depends - to a degree - on the deck it's facing, so a universally perfect deck would have to be the ideal matchup against every other conceivable deck. Given the ridiculous amount of different strategies out there, there's just no way you can achieve that. Besides, anything that gets even close to that standard will immediately earn the ire of Upperdeck Entertainment and be blasted down with great prejudice come the next banlist.

There are ideal and preferable decks (or at least something very close to them) for specific matchups, though again, because there are variations within the same strategy as well, not to mention side deck strategies, there is no single perfect solution. Only ones approaching it.

Closest thing...would be the old Ohm OTKO deck, now impossible to play because of the banlist as the math behind that one really minimized the amount of interaction with the opponent, but even Ohm OTKO could be hampered by a carefully timed D.D. Crow, or a number of cards the opponent managed to set if they went first.

So yeah, no perfects. And that is a good thing, because if there was a perfect deck you could play, it would just kill the variety in strategies that keeps the game entertaining in the first place.

......Rule number one regarding experiments involving people: never tell those people that you are running an experiment. It will always, always, always influence their actions, hence ruining your results. Either you somehow did not know this and rarely even put thought into such things, or you are already aware of this, which I believe would translate your post into somewhat of a poor trolling/posturing attempt.

But still, I think I will humor your request:

1x Right Arm of the Forbidden One
1x Right Leg of the Forbidden One
1x Left Arm of the Forbidden One
1x Left Leg of the Forbidden One
1x Exodia the Forbidden One
35x Pot of Greed

I believe this is the sort of response that you were expecting, yes? Too bad, because even a deck such as this can be defeated by a well-timed Morphing Jar or Card Destruction.

Is there really such a thing? XD I don't play the card game anymore in real life, but I do play Tag Force 3 for my PSP (if it wasn't for portable things such as manga and portable consoles, I wouldn't have any entertainment at all). Right now I'm playing a syncro monster deck, though it doesn't have many of the cards yet though, it roughly has about all of the cards seen through episodes 1-5 of 5D's. It's basically constructed to summon out a lot of strong monsters using card effects and multiple summons. My personal favorite is Light End Dragon. I hope that they make a 5D's game for the PSP so that I can explore the cards more.

lol pot of greed is a magic card, that deck is unbeatable (other than the fact that you only use 35 of a 3 restricted but thats the point :P)

My perfect deck would be a working Dark Paladin deck. Failing that, I have to go with something fun, like Dark World. Anyway, did you know that Yu-Gi-Oh! has an unbeatable lock? Here goes:

F M1 M2 M3 M4 M5 G
E S1 S2 S3 S4 S5 D
Field Card(F): None
Monster 1(M1): Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8
Monster 2(M2): Jinzo (Equipped with S2)
Monster 3(M3): Destiny Hero Plasma (Equipped with S3)
Monster 4(M4): The End of Anubis (Equipped with S4)
Monster 5(M5): None
Graveyard(G): Whatever you need
Extra Deck(E): Whatever you want
Spell/Trap 1(S1): None
Spell/Trap 2(S2): Mist Body (Equipped to M2)
Spell/Trap 3(S3): Mist Body (Equipped to M3)
Spell/Trap 4(S4): Mist Body (Equipped to M4)
Spell/Trap 5(S5): None
Deck(D): Whatever's left

This lock cannot be beaten by anything, as far as I can tell. No monsters have a powerful enough attack to neutralize Horus, (And nothing can kill the other monsters) no spells or traps can be activated without being negated, and it basically can only be beaten by decking out, or loss of life points thru cards like Tremendous fire (If you use it). The only thing that can really beat it is exodia.

That's a best-case scenario. Doesn't really work in real life.
Besides, it's beatable.

Player II uses "Monster Reborn."
Player I chains Horus' effect onto it.
Player II chains "Herald of Orange Light" to Horus' effect (from the Hand), destroying it.
Player II uses "Lightning Vortex" to destroy all the monsters on Player I's field.
Chances are that since Jinzo is out, Player I is helpless to defend.
Since Player I's Spells are all equips, he loses them too.
Player II is then free to do whatever he wishes.

Or, somewhat more common:

-Player II Synchro Summons Red Dragon Archfiend
-Player II has Red Dragon Archfiend attack Horus LV8, destroying both
-Player II uses Lightning Vortex

Lock broken. I believe Exiled Force would also work, as its Tributing is the activation requirement and is thus no longer on the field when its effect resolves, stopping Plasma from negating it.

lol the ban list owns that deck unfortunately. haha I remember back in the day we loved the trinity.

ah there is no perfect deck though. it all depends on the metagame which seems to be in the one turn kill era now as it previously hadn't been. I guess the perfect deck is a deck that is constantly changing with the meta and under the ownership of someone who truly understands the game flow and has fantastic insight to combos and odds.

Actually, on an off-topic thing that was brought up before, there is an unbreakable lock in Yu-Gi-Oh.

I have Dark Simorgh on the field, and Anti-Spell fragrance face-up. Dark Simorgh prevents you from setting cards, and Anti-Spell Fragrance forces both players to set spells before they play them. So you can't activate spells or traps- heck, you can't even set 'em. To back up my Simorgh, I've got Destiny Hero-Plasma in play with Dark Armed Dragon equipped to it. So he's got the ability to shut down all your monster effects, while leaving mine intact. I've got Solemn Judgment set, so I can negate your normal summon, and Dark Simorgh prevents you from setting your monsters. I've also got two copies of Bottomless Trap Hole, in case you try any funny business with Judgment Dragon or Dark Armed Dragon. Now imagine you've got a full hand and an empty field and graveyard. Try breaking the lock. I dare you.

Now here's the trick: try setting up that lock quickly and reliably before your opponent special summons a big beater and smashes your face. If you build a deck that can do that every time, you've got a perfect deck. But seeing as achieving that situation is extremely difficult, you're going to have a rough time building it.

So yeah, good luck with that. Until then, I'll go with Aniki's analysis: there is no perfect deck in YGO.

hmm right. that is a good lock

but a reliable deck is one where you win the same or mostly the same way every time. Going along with that you have to be able to change your strategy according to different card losses you suffer.

To use an old example, what if you have a shadow ghoul deck and your 3x shadow ghoul are you way to win. The deck is made to throw tons of monsters in the graveyard and boost your guys attack. Well what if someone plays book of moon to flip your ghoul face down, then hits it with a nobleman of crossout that removes it from the game along with any in your deck. Now you're sunk because it's very hard to pull guys removed from the game like that and bring them back reliably to the field.

I guess what I'm saying is that we can all think of locks for ideal scenarios. How about this one, my opponent has no cards on the field and 8000 life points left. Then I attack him with sasuke samurai to win while I have 4 scapegoat tokens and two united we stand attached to sasuke. See? that's a strategy (severely over dramatized and dumbed down) but nonetheless it is a win)

That is why locks like that are seemingly uncommon because they don't usually work out game after game. Therefore the "perfect" deck wouldn't rely on an epic lock. It would rely on willingness to change strategy and card variation.

AC I do agree with your conclusion however ;)

How effective is Destiny Hero - Defender in Teleport Dark Armed?

Is it just there for Allure of Darkness, Destiny Draw, Dark Armed Dragon and others? Or does it actuaully provide a decent wall even with the Dark Bribe drawback?

I'll tribute Dark Simorgh and Destiny Hero - Plasma for Lava Golem.
Spoiler:
And I totally forgot about Solemn.
Heck, I'll even set Wall of Revealing Light, Trap of Darkness, and Malice Dispersion.

During your Standby Phase, I'll activate Wall of Revealing Light to drop my LP down to 3000. I'll use Malice Dispersion to destroy Anti-Spell Fragrance, discarding my Huge Revolution. Then I'll activate my Trap of Darkness and pay 1000 LP to destroy all cards on your side of the field and in your Hand.

You'll end your turn, I presume...
Or do something silly like summon Malicious.
