Clouds

I lay on the ground
and stare blankly at the sky
Clouds fly past
Look, an elephant, my oh my.

I'll let my imagination run wild
See what my mind thinks up
As it moulds these shapeless things
into boats, swords, maybe even a wolf pup!

The sun comes out to play
I shade my eyes with my arm
as the light beams into my eyes
I close them in alarm

But where have all the clouds gone?
Where has my moulding clay fled?
My friends had left
and another tear was shed.

I got great pleasure out of this. It made me smile. The rhyming isn't so lame like it can be ;D and reminded me of being a young child. I love it :3

I enjoyed this poem for its choice of words and simplicity (so what if the meter was off at points...). It's worth appreciating this solely for its down-to-earth-iness. For truly, kiddies, what you read is what you get!
