I understand the security of blocking the word bypass, but it's a bit silly to do so, considering Health & The Body (Does sex ed, but it's mostly like Greys Anatomy or House) teach a lot about surgeries and stuff, including 'bypasses'.
I know. It was terrible. There were a lot of people that had issues with it blocking based on keywords. Although, the site could contain the word "bypass." It mainly checked what was in the URL. Most search engines place your search queries into the URL, which is what triggered the blockage.
That place even at one time blocked sites such as Wikipedia and Google Maps.
LOL the Los Angeles USD network usually blocks off all the good sites. Even PC! (I use the IP Address :3)
As for proxies eh most people think they base it off the Web History, but it's mostly rerouting that lights up filters IMO. =P
Also...They really should just filter really offensive stuff not the fandom based/games 'cuz it just makes kids more computer geeks (maybe me too...) if we're forced to find ways around...
Eh just a post for the day...See ya later. ^_^
I wasn't actually talking about the Web histroy (if you were talking to me, anyway). I've used IP addresses as well to bypass stuff.
They upgraded the proxy server my last year there. That one required us to login to our school account before it would let you do anything. That one actually kept a history of where we went (which is pretty much why I used my laptop). I was lucky, though, and got away with a lot of things at my school just for knowing the IT people. They even caught me using a Linux LiveCD there, but didn't do anything.
