Okay, so I'm going to play Fire Emblem on my DS, but the screen is pretty dirty so I clean it with the stuff my brother uses to clean his computer monitor. Afterward, however, I'm playing, and I notice the touch screen's not working right. I can't select anything in it for more than a split second, and it's pretty mis-aligned. So I turn it off and back on to calibrate it, but in the main menu I can't use the touch screen at all! I figure that some inaccessible area of the screen must have some kind of object stuck in it that's pressing down on the touch screen itself, so it thinks that's me touching it and assumes the pen is held in that one area constantly. So I used the toothbrush method from Nintendo's website to make sure I could get any little specks out that could be causing it, but guess what? When I start the system back up, not only is it still doing it, but it always selects "DS Download Play" from the menu, despite the fact there's absolutely nothing touching the screen there! The worst part is, even if I repeatedly press a button, the touch pen gets top priority, so the buttons don't work when it thinks I'm touching the screen! Please help, I really don't want to have to send this to Nintendo again.

What computer monitor does your brother have? LCD or CRT? If you used the wrong kind of cleaning solution then you may have damaged the screen of you DS.

Sending it to Nintendo is probably the answer. I had a similar issue (not sure of the reason). If you're under warranty, call up Nintendo and you'll do an exchange by mail.
