List updated. I'm quite happy to see this much support =D

I haven't actually played the game in ages..
I really ought to.. I'm sure I'd be able to take down Doom Dragon easily now though.
After all, when I fought him, I had a stupid ten year old brain, and now it's a not-so-stupid fifteen year old brain.
Reasons I struggled may also include the fact I only levelled up four people...
[Piers, Felix, Isaac, Sheba]..
Ah, that's the same with me. My weapon selections were so bad from my file from when I was 11 that it's almost like another fun challange trying to set up the items well.

Yeah. I restarted the game yesterday. Reading this topic got me wanting to play again.
I renamed all the charachters aswell using the input code [It's a suprize I still remember it, tbh.]
I'm currently around that town where Piers is being held. [Can't remember it's name, i woke up at 4 in the morning and started playing. All seemed like a blur. Can't wait till I get piers on my team though - I need to offload that mercury djinni onto him. I suppose it allows sheba to hit a little harder, though, but it takes away all those powerful Wind Psynergy while it's set, So I tend to use it as soon as it sets. [I suppose I should play around with djinn setup of my team a bit. I tend to assign Djinn to people who are of the same elemental alignment, I.e. Jupiter Djinn get set to Sheba or Ivan.]
My team's only Level 8 at the moment. I guess I haven't got so many levels 'cuz I used to forget how to get through the Dekhan Plateau.

I'd love to join this club. The Golden Sun series is one of the best during the GBA's lifetime and it really deserves a sequel, since it was meant to be a trilogy anyway. I've heard that Camelot as a game in the works for the Wii that is said to be an RPG, keep your fingers crossed.

My favorite characters in Golden Sun are:
Spoiler:

Another cool thing I figured out well looking up Golden Sun info, Camelot had put a nod to Link from the Legend of Zelda in Golden Sun: The Lost Age as an unused NPC. They even used the old-school brown haired Link. By using a GameShark, you can exchange Felix's overworld sprites with Link's unused overworld sprites, not battle sprites though. I've included the pic and GS codes below.

Um, I've never heard of it.

Well, a summary of a few theories I have:
- Ivan/Sheba/[insert Jupe here]'s Mind Read has some interesting properties. The user can "connect" with a mind for a minimum of a 1/10 of a second, which does the minimal "at the moment" scan. A scan of 30 seconds can reveal everything about a person; basically a download of the person's thoughts, dreams, emotions, memories, even unconcious thoughts.
- The elemental stars are held in mythril bags rather than being held normally because they have the ability to be absorbed by organic flesh (a hand, for example), causing an immense tranformation. Note how Isaac and Garet both wear gloves, and they were the ones assigned by Kraden to grab the stars. Also note how the Sol Sanctum collapses when the stars are removed - the sheer power of their presence is capable of holding a giant cavern in the mountain together.
- Not only to Jupiter adepts have the potential to see into the future, but they also have the potential to communicate with the dead and even control others for brief periods of time.
- Ideas like fission and fusion apply to the world of Weyard, as an immense amount of energy from a lighthouse can fuse with people's bodies, forming a dragon (i.e. Fusion Dragon). Doom Dragon, however, was not formed this way.
- The people of Weyard, or at least Anagra, believe in a monotheistic religion with souls.
- The Anemos's technology far surpasses the Lemurians, and in fact, they're still living on the moon and are still capable of producing food for the population. Their technology is so advanced, that it surpasses the newest technology on Earth. However, the radiation which is produced by their technology is reflected off of the moon, which, due to a genetic defect in the citizens of Garoh, changes them into wolf-like-humanoids under maximum exposure, i.e. the full moon (I'm not saying werewolves because werewolves typically lose control of themselves while the "werewolves" of Garoh have obvious control over their behaviour).
- Weyard has been going through a 500 year cycle of "lost ages", which refers to the lighting and extinguishing of the elemental lighthouses. Basically, the cycle goes that the lighthouses are lit, life is great, Weyard expands, blah blah blah but then there is corruption threatening the existance of the world, so the power is locked up and the lighthouses are extinguished. The world begins shrinking gradually, and by 150 or so years, some group of adepts rises up and lights them again. Then the cycle repeats.

And that's a sample. Let's just say I have free time, and lots of it. (I do the same for Pokemon too, but it's easier to write theories for GS)

BTW, has anyone heard of the Wheat Sword? It's a joke made by fans as a super powerful sword. Here's a fake screen:

Here's some stuff from GS Universe on the joke:
Wheat Sword
From Golden Sun Universe
The Wheat Sword is a fictitious weapon that was created by fans as a joke. It is supposed to be the strongest weapon in the game. A user at GameFAQs named RyuKenshin took the joke to the next level when he wrote a guide to "Obtain the Wheat Sword," which was actually submitted and accepted on the site. Since then, it has become legendary on various forums and is almost never a topic unseen on these forums. Possibly in response to Camelot's failure to release a Golden Sun 3 in a satisfactory amount of time after the release of The Lost Age, forum posters have attempted to entertain each other and expand the joke to encompass other "grain weapons of ultimate power" such as the Bread Hammer (courtesy of a user named Pkrules), the Grain Axe, and the Noodle Whip. However, these added weapons are viewed by all as being tacky attempts to leech from RyuKenshin's fame, and the board regulars have persuaded all the non-troll users to scorn these items and all topics relating to them.
The dubious guide that started it all is posted here in its final version before it was removed from GameFAQs:
/Forging the Wheat Sword FAQ

I would like to say that it took me weeks of research to figure out how to forge the Wheat Sword, with a lot of anger, and I had to replace my GBA after throwing it against the wall...But anyways, here it is! You need to have gotten to Lemuria before you can start getting the power of the Wheat Sword.
Here is a screen shot of Felix obtaining the Wheat Sword:

-Jenna gives the Mythril Gloves and Wheat Sword to Felix
-Felix puts on Mythril Gloves, and equips the Wheat Sword
-The party exits Champa, leaving Alex on the ground
  • Cutscene ends*
Wielding the Wheat Sword
The wheat sword is the most powerful sword of the game. Unfortunatly, the Wheat Sword can only be wielded by the person who wears the Mytrhil Gloves that Feizhi gives you. I don't know why, but that is the reason. Also, the Wheat Sword is a longsword, but all characters are able to wield it because of the Mythril Gloves.
Battling with the Wheat Sword
From the experiments that I've done I've found that the Wheat Sword uses the following formula for attacks...
" Physical attacks are based on Relative Attack. They have a Base Damage which is equal to (Relative Attack / 2).
Special physical attacks take this Base Damage and modify it with two variables: Mult Mod and Add Mod. The formula used is: Base Damage * Mult Mod + Add Mod
Critical hits have an inherent Mult Mod of 1.25. In addition to this, they have a variable Add Mod that depends on the target's Level: the formula being Add Mod = Target's Level / 5 + 6."
The Wheat Sword is special, in the sense that the Add Mod is multiplied by 1.75, and the Mult Mod is 1.25 normally, and becomes 1.6 on a Critical Hit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Oh noes, my friend tried the whole cheat but Felix WON against Feizhi!
A: Your friend just ruined the entire cheat. I'm sorry, but he/she will have to start a new game, or go without the wonder of the Wheat Sword.
Q: When I fused the Hilt of Fields and Wheat Metal, it split into four, and turned into alternate Kradens that had elemental Psynergy, who each had one Wheat Sword equipped!
A: I'm sorry, but you clearly did not have the Laughing Fungus in your inventory. This is the reason behind the Alternate Kradens. Run away, and retrieve the Laughing Fungus before you can move on.
Q: Is this a glitch only on his cart? Did this happen to anyone else? WILL IT HAPPEN TO ME!!!
A: No, if you are smart and kept the Laughing fungus, the alternate Kradens will laugh uncontrollably, and the real Kraden will step in and destroy them. Their Wheat Sword's are fakes, and will vanish.
Q: I tried to fight the Alternate Kradens without the Laughing Fungus, and they defeated me! Kraden was left behind, but he was unable to survive! Kraden was killed!
A: No! You are not supposed to do that! In doing that, you have unlocked the sequence of events that wll cause the world to suddenly explode! Tell your friend to destroy his Gameboy Advance and his copy of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, and burn the remains before it is too late!
Q: Okay, I did that, but my friend linked up with me to do battle mode. Is my copy of Golden Sun: The Lost Age going to experience the same horrors?
A: No, as long as he doesn't do the same thing again, we will be fine.
Q: I'm having some trouble...At the end, when Felix is supposed to wake up and join you, there's something wrong. He woke up, but ran away to join the Temple of Kraden! How do I get him back!?! Help right away please!
A: Follow Felix! You have done something wonderful! You have begun the sequence of events to unlock Kraden joining your party!

Yeah, she is pretty cool IMHO. I prefer her over Sheba. Sheba's just a whiney stupid idiot who just complains about how she never knew her parents (actually, she get's it better off than Ivan does - since she crashes to Weyard, the little villagers of Laverio think she's a demigoddess and treat her as best as they can, while Ivan is reared as a freaking servant)

I think that in a GS3 they shouldn't make the next female a healer >_> Sure, Sheba's not one, but Sheba's a higher defense/lower speed version of Ivan. If they decide to do the Earth/Fire/Wind/Water party, I expect to see Master Hama as the Jupe. And I expect her to be totally B.A. (which she would constitute her well because she's already awesome in my book).

Besides Alex and Eoleo, I think she's the only major NPC Adept with a name that fits the 5 character limit XD I may be wrong on this, though...

Oooo, Jupiter you forgot to TELL ME :P.
I found this by chance... luckily! Well, I'm a Water Adept fan if anything :P.
Hmm, has anyone thought about a GS3 being either a Prequal or takeing place in a farther future? By farther future I mean far enough that the characters could have had children.
Also it would be nice if in a Sequal or Prequal we got the ability to travel the whole entire world. Has anyone tried going back to places from the first one like Vault before? I have ;.; XD

Both of those ideas are pretty common. I wouldn't mind a prequel, but a super far-in-the-future sequel wouldn't be nice. They'd have to throw away a lot of great characters and risk it with new characters. Sure, TLA had a new playable character (Piers) but it was only one and they pulled it off well. But Camelot could have seriously messed that one up.

I MUST RING THE BELL TO ATTRACT VENUS DJINNI AGAIN LOL. Vault was pretty cool.

And yeah wouldn't it be nice if we get a DS version with both versions...AND A PREQUEL + SEQUEL 8D

Naw, I was saying that the next female should be more of an offensive character rather than defensive. Hama seems like a perfect fit.

But if we had a far-off sequel, she'd be like 50-60 =P

And I hope that at least you all know who I'm talking about...

^ Yep Sheba pretty much is one of the least inventive characters in Golden Sun :P.
Also after searching through this thread I found the part where Jupiter (I thought it was Jupiter >.<) says something about playing as the other non-playable characters. What if there was Prequal in which you could play them and how they interacted with the original plot of both GSs? Also it could begin before they intefere with the plot lines and explain thier history, motives, and maybe a seperate plotline in which a group of Adepts that have already been "made" are being played as.

I want to hear Jupiter's idea on the above because I still have yet to know if my idea has any drawbacks that I haven't though of >.<

I would love to see a double pack DS Card of Golden Sun: The Broken Seal and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. I would buy it in a heart beat since my 2 were stolen, along with a ton of other GBA games, and its so hard to find them anywhere other than the internet.

I'd love to see a more offensive female character, or maybe even a female lead character, those are awfully rare, especially in Nintendo games that you can't choose your gender in. I may be biased since I'm a girl, but I would love that. Since I love the Fire Element, I'd love her to be a Mars, although I'd also love Jupiter because of Lightning, not that I'd complain about anything they chose for her.

If they did have a double cartridge DS game, I would play it too, but I would expect utilization of the 3-D capabilities of the DS.

Well, I would not like to play a prequel, but I would prefer playing that over a far-in-the-future sequel. A prequel is hard simply because the two original games were based on a "saving the world" story, and there wouldn't be much to do in a prequel. A far-in-the-future sequel would be a bit much for me, because you would have to dispose of the characters now (not fully, but causing characters to grow up means that they will have to be changed), plus Camelot would be taking a risk in making so many new characters. And I reeeeeeally want Hama to be playable in a GS3. She's too freaking awesome.

Some things I would definately want to see in a GS3:
- Finding about Sheba's Past/Flying to the moon/Anemos
- Fighting an epic battle against Alex
- Seeing what's over Gaia Falls
- Seeing the world transform due to the release of Alchemy
- More djinn, more summons, more psynergy
- Voice acting, if it isn't fail
- If it's on the DS, dual-slot capabilities allowing you to transfer save files
- Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama Hama mushroom mushroom...
- WHEAT SWORD IS OBTAINABLE
- Anime cut scenes, where possible

On a sidenote, I think that the artists for GS3 should make more art for other characters, like Dora, Kyle, Hammet, Donpa, Dodonpa, Hydros, Maha, ect. ect...

Bringing up Anime, does anyone else see the huge potential for a GS anime here? As long as they didn't fail it with terrible voice acting (goes off to raid 4-Kids! so they don't even thinks about it)

EDIT: This may be the wrong link, but my internet's terrible =P but I would highly suggest you guys watching this to see if you can understand what the hell is going on XD:

That would be hilarious if Camelot, or the translators, put the Wheat Sword in as a cameo, like if you look around an item shop or someone's house and examined a sword on the wall your character would say.
"Wheat Sword? What a weird name for a sword.."
or something like that. Or maybe including it as a Joke Weapon, thus it couldn't have the same stats as the "real" Wheat Sword, but it would still be a funny reference.

I have a nostalgic feeling at the moment.
I just beat Captain Briggs on GS2, and owned him totally and utterly.
I remember struggling against him on my first playthrough.
Can't wait to get Piers atm.

If they had the Wheat Sword, it would have to be obtainable in the original way.

Here is a screen shot of Felix obtaining the Wheat Sword:

-You go to fight them, but they are fighting eachother!
-After they kill each other, you take Saturos' Armor
-Give the armor to the mayor of Prox

-Use that coupon like a game ticket in Contigo
-You will win the Super Potion

-Give the box to Piers, who remembers that there is a cave under his uncles bed
-In the cave, you meet the Lost Lemurian
-He gives you the Super Lucky Medal, which you use with Lemuria's fountain
-When you win, you get the Hilt of Fields

-A mermaid appears, and casts bubble on your party
-Now you can go underwater!
-To enter the Mermaid Queen's Chamber, you must Mind Read the right guard

-You meet the Mermaid Queen, who gives you the Coral Key
-Use the Coral Key at Mercury Lighthouse to open that one locked door that no-one saw
-In the room, you find the Mercury Star.

Ah, I'm repeating myself again.

On the subject of Briggs...

I love it when he leaves Alhafra and yells,
"Neener neener neener neener neener BLEAH!!!"
and
"And make sure you keep Alhafra safe from pirates! And Politicians, too!"
