Axle
"Hello," Someone says, startling you. As you look around for the person who spoke, you see only your bedroom, and your recently added computer. As you realize that you must have been hearing someone else's conversation, as your window is open, you turn back to your computer to finish setting up the system. After a little bit of work, you sit back and start to wait as the computer installs its operating system.
"Please stop this, it hurts." You hear, causing you to jump with surprise. Deciding you would rather not have that happen again, you get up and walk to your window, nearly hitting your head on the bottom of your bed frame, as you have a loft bed with a desk under it. Once you reach the window, you look outside to see who was talking, out of curiosity. But as you look, you see no one, which severely alarms you.
As you nervously look for the people talking, you hear the same voice say "Please help me, I don't want to die!" The voice is coming from behind you. You turn around, only to see an empty room, with a computer installing a new operating system.
"The computer," You manage to mumble, cautiously walking back to your desk, and sitting down.
You sit there, staring at the screen, watching the installation, when you hear a strangled cry, barely gargling the words "Help... Me..."
Your to terrified to move, you stay planted to your seat, staring in horror at your talking computer. But the voice doesn't come back. At 99 percent done, something in you causes you to stop the installing of the new system.
"Thank... You... Friend..." You hear the voice say, obviously exhausted and scared.
Before you can say anything about it the voice says "Please let me explain. My name is Axle, and I am what you would call an operating system. By installing the new one, you would have killed me. You're not first person to have me though, as you may have guessed. I have belonged to many people; but before I tell you about them, I would like to tell you more about myself."

Just so you know, this will be a two part story. This is more or less the teaser, or prologue, whatever you want to call it. Only 363 words, so yeah... This is pretty short. Hope you like it!
