Couldn't really thibk of a better name...

I decided to try out a fan-fic. If you think it has potential, I'll continue whenever I can.

It was another day in Pallet Town. The sun had just risen over the horizon, the Dodrio cried its screechy cry, Professor Oak was awaiting the new trainers aspiring to become pokemon masters, and these boys were getting ready to leave on their journey.

Sean had gotten up pretty early that morning, excited at the prospect of finally becoming a trainer. Sean was pretty quiet. Never talked in School unless asked to give answers, and yet wasn't shy. If you tried to make conversation, he would talk.
Spooning his cereal into his mouth, he thought of the journey that lay ahead, the trials that awaited. His best friends, Plusle and Minun, had woken at last and wandered into the kitchen and awaited breakfast.
"Finally up, are you?" Sean asked. They nodded. "Right, i'll get your food right now, then I have to get ready."

After pouring them dry cereal, Sean rushed back to his room to change out his night clothes. He pulled on his baggy blue jeans, loose black shirt with a Pokeball on the front, red and white fingerless gloves, plain socks and black shoes, he rushed back downstairs and found Plusle, Minun and his mother waiting for him in the Ktchen.
"It's today already", his mother sighed, "I'm gonna miss you so much."
"Don't worry mum, i'll call often." Sean reassured her.

After they said their goodbyes, Sean, Plusle and Minun walked to Professor Oaks lab, arriving at the same time as another boy.
"Becoming a trainer are you?" The boy asked.
"Yep." Sean replied.
"I'm Paddy, are those your Pokemon?" Paddy enquired.
"I'm Sean, and yeah, hopefully, they'll be my starters."
"Two starters? Oak won't let you away with that." Paddy warned.
"So, what kinda name's Paddy? Sounds like an old guy's name." Sean asked as they walked to the door of Oaks lab, were Oak himself was standing waiting.
"Short for Patrick." He mumbled.
"There you are! The other two boys been and gone already! There's only one Pokemon left! Hmm... that may cause problems."
"No problem professor, These guys here are my starters." Sean informed him, pointing at Plusle and Minun, who waved cheerily at Oak.
"Two Pokemon? I'm afraid I can't allow it. It isn't fair for the others." Oak explained, pulling out the last Pokeball. "This here's the last pokemon, Charmander. You'll have to decide who gets it. Hmm? What're your Pokemon doing?"
Sean looked at his Pokemon, who seemed to be having a discussion. Eventually, Minun ran off towards route 1.
"Hey, Minun! What're you doing?!" Sean made to run after him, but Plusle blocked his path, and started making sounds and jumped around, as if pretending to fight another pokemon.
"Ah! It seems that Minun has left you with Plusle, and technically you only have one pokemon!" Oak explained to the boys. "I guess this means you get Charmander then, err.."
"Paddy" he said, taking the Pokeball. "Thanks!"
Oak gave them their Pokedex's and pokeball's, and wished them luck on their journey. They walked towards route 1, saying nothing.

"Hey, Sean, how about we battle?" Paddy asked.
Sean thought for a moment. "Sure." He replied.
They took their positions about thirteen feet away from each other.
"Let's go, Plusle!" Sean said, and plusle jumped towards the middle of their battlefield.
"Charmander, GO!" Paddy shouted, throwing his Pokeball towards the spot in front of Plusle. Charmander out its ball.

"Plusle, start things out with a Thunder wave!" Sean commanded, and Plusle discharged electricity and shot it at Charmander.
"Dodge, now" Paddy cried, and Charmander side-stepped the electricity. "Scratch it now!"
"Plusle, Quick attack!"
Plusle managed to tackle Charmander to the ground before it could scratch, and jumped back. "Excellent work, Plusle, now, Growl!"
"Pluuuuuuusslleeee...." Plusle made it's intimidating sound, which unnerved the charmander.
"Don't be afraid of that thing, Ember attack, now" Paddy commanded.
Charmander shot some fire at Plusle, who was engulfed in the fire.
"Plusle, Quick Attack outta there!" Plusle sped away from the ember. "Now Quick attack Charmander again!"
"Charmander, Scratch it!"
Both attacks collided with each other and knocked them both to the ground. They lay there for a few seconds. Eventually, one of them begn to stir...

Woo, long chapter, hope it isn't boring.

No constructive criticism? I'll take it that i'm doing okay then :P

For anyone who wants to read the next chapter, I'll update later today or tomorrow.

And here it is:

Afteer the attacks had collided, both Pokemon had fallen to the ground. Neither moved for a moment. Eventually, Plusle began struggling to his feet, slowly. It got to its knees before Charmander eventually tried to stand. They struggled with this for a moment before they fell again. Sean and Paddy rushed towards their Pokemon. Paddy took a potionfrom his bag and sprayed some on his Charmander. Sean was about to do the same, and realized that he had somehow managed to leave his bag behind, along with the items he stockpiled over the years. How did he manage to forget something so important?
"Darn, I'm gonna have to run back to my house for my bag, I completely forgot about it!" Sean told Paddy. "You go on, and if you see Minun, tell him i'll be back for him in ten minutes. And that was an epic battle!"
"Uh.. Sure."
Sean picked up his Plusle and ran back to his house, and saw his mother leaving the front door with his bag.
"Ah, there you are! How did you manage to forget your most essential piece of equipment?"
"Heh heh..."
Sean withdrew a potion from his bag and sprayed it on his Plusle, who instantly started feeling better.
"A battle aready? That was quick. And where's Minun?" his mother asked.
"Waiting at Route 1, I'm gonna go get him now. Bye, again."
"Remember, call often!"

Back at route 1, Sean was on the lookout for Minun. He wasn't in sight, which seemed odd. Minun wouldn't hide, he'd be too afraid of being left behind. Perhaps he was chased by a wild Pokemon? Eventually, after walking for ten minutes, minun bounded into view, happy that sean finally appeared.
"Missed me?" Sean laughed as Minun jumped into his arms, then started playing around with Plusle. After the little reunion, they continued walking through route 1. Paddy was probably already at Viridian City. He saw Rattata's running through tall grass, and Pidgey's flying through the sky. Nothing he was too interested in catching. Although it was probably too much to hope for a Dratini or something to cross his path.

Funnily enough, a Dratini HAD appeared from nowhere. Flying at ground level, stopping a few feet from a very shocked Sean. After the initial shock, he pulled his Pokedex from his pocket and checked its data. His face fell when the Dratini was labelled 'Owned'. But by who?
"Nice Dratini huh?" Came a voice from behind a tree.
"Uh, who's there?" Sean asked. A boy walked into view. he was dressed mostly blue. Blue shirt, trousers, shoes, even his eyes were a light blue.
"The Dratini's mine." The boy informed Sean. "Hard to find, they are."
Sean nodded in agreement at this. "So... New trainer?"
"Nah, I came from Johto. Just visiting Pallet Town before taking on Kanto's gyms. I'm Cyan, by the way."
"Uh, Cyan?"
"Yeah, you know, the colour?" Sean just shook his head at this. "Well, i'm Sean... Interested in a battle?"
Cyan thought for a moment. "Sorry, but you just started right? No point in me battling you, I probably wouldn't take a hit."
Sean figured that would probably be the case, this boy had already beaten the Johto gyms, after all.
"I'd best be going now, and if you really want to battle me, train hard!" Cyan told Sean, and walked off toward Pallet Town.

Finally arriving in Viridian City's Pokemon centre an hour later, Sean booked a room for the night, then walked around the city. He was familiar with the place, having come here often with his mother for stuff that couldn't be bought in Pallet. He noticed that the gym was finally reopened. After the original gym leader disspapeared, it had come under new management. He heard the new leader was a Pallet Trainer. He entered the gym, Plusle and Minun following close behind. He saw a figure in the distance. The gym leader looked around...

Woo, suspence. Bet you probably know who the leader is though...
