I'm not reading anything at the moment, but I just finished a book called The City of Thieves by David Benioff. Really good book. It's about two guys, Kolya and Lev, both Russian, and have to find a dozen eggs in the middle of a war-town and Nazi-occupied Russia where food is hard to come by. They find themselves in all sorts of dangerous situations like... well, I'm don't want to spoil it.

I just finished Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah. For english class.
I actually stayed up late and finished the book a week before I was supposed to. It's a hard book to put down. It certainly tugged on a few heart strings. :C

Reading Heart of Darkness by Josef Conrad for my AP English class.

Its an ok book, but he forces the theme of the book down your throat until you're like, "All right! I get it!"
I happen to like it when I read it. I didn't have to read it for AP tho :)

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Highly overrated series. I was expecting a phenomenal book with addictive literature that would have me flipping through the pages like a high person. All I'm getting is relatively good book with slow parts every now in then, with with somewhat long chapters. It's not good, not bad, just average.

The Rape of Nanking, it's about the Japanese capturing the Chinese city of Nanking during World War II and the systematic extermination of it's population. It's pretty powerful stuff....They killed about 240,000 - 375,000 people.

Don't bash me over the films because the books are nothing like them, but I'm actually reading "Jumper" by Steven Gould.
The book was wrote in like '96/'98 and is really different then Jumper the movie.
But it has the same idea, kid being abused by his father, learns he can teleport or "jump" and runs (or jumps away). He robs a bank (so now he's rich) and starts a new life. There are rules to how he teleports (like he has to have been there before and have a clear memory of the place) and it has made for some interesting events.
It's kinda slow, but I'm still enjoying reading it (about mid way through) and looking forward to reading the sequel "Reflex" when I'm finished.

I'm currently reading two books at once, one as a school assignment and the other just for enjoyment. The school assignment is Maus I & II, which a graphic novel about a mouse's life during the Holocaust (Mice are dominant species/humans don't exist). It's the first school assigned book that I find interesting since The Odyssey, but that's probably because it's a graphic novel. The other book is Angels & Demons which I am desperately trying to finish before the movie comes out. My love for physics and religious conspiracies has my hooked on this book.
